It was on Aftonbladet tv, though I didn't actually watch it myself just read about it. Apparently he confronts Mårts saying he needs to bench Bäckström or something.. I have also always had a very hard time liking him to be honest.

Did he say why Bäckström should be benched? It sounds like he's mentally ill.

Insert Hedman, Brodin & Lindholm.

Then Zibanejad and/or M.Johansson for sure.

Also, Lehner should be there.

Franzen has been injured quite a while now, perhaps he won't go to Sochi.

Erik Gustavsson as a reserve....what is the world coming to. So much insanity. A guy who is the 7th defenceman in Philadelphia, ahead of Hedman and Lindholm. Even Gunnarsson is clearly better.

A part of me almost wish that we stink the Olympics up, so that we can finally get rid of tha smug moron, Marts.

Question to Mårts from a viewer during a TV-interview:

"Would you see ending up with a bronze medal as a failure?"

"No... We will be regarded as failures. But we can't look at it that way... We focus on a good performance, that's all we can do. We can't always control what the opponents do. I don't think we should be that picky, we could play amazing and still lose and you can pay poorly and still win. We will play as good as we can. Of course I want a gold, everybody wants that, but sometimes you have to take the leftovers."

Kristian Huselius is sitting next to him looking like "what are you saying?".

Wow, his energy just engages the whole studio...
I really hope he doesn't talk like this in the locker room.

How Hedman did not make the team is mind boggling.

Also this players are better than Erik "afraid to hit" Gustavsson: Adam Larsson, Mattias Ekholm, Anton Strålman. Even David Rundblad.

Rönnberg as headcoach with Grönborg would be the dream.

No idea, I haven't watched it as I try not to give Aftonbladet any clicks, but I think it's from the same interview linked above.

He said that Backstrom wasn't good enough for the Swedish top-6, and that he couldn't perform on the bottom-6.

What the **** is that Idol-guy doing there? And Thomas Ros. Huselius raving about Bäckström needing to be benched. Simply embarrasing.

Brodin has no playmaking upside? That's a bit harsh. I even like a OEL/Brodin pairing better than OEL/Karlsson. Ideally, Karlsson should play with Hjalmarsson.

Seriously, our whole team is full of players who have been or still are injured, concussed or just had really mediocer seasons - on top of that our coach made some really stupid mistakes when picking the team.

These Olympics will be a complete disaster for Sweden.

He probably finds Bäckis too soft of a player.

Call me crazy but I'd move Zetterberg back to centre, have 1-2-3 of Sedin/Backstrom/Zetterberg. Sedin line gets the majority of the offensive zone starts, while Zetterberg plays in a 'shutdown role'

Sedin - Sedin - Eriksson
Steen - Zetterberg - Landeskog
Alfy - Backstrom - Franzen

I know those linemates of his are good defensively but so are Alfie and Franzén, so i would consider keeping it a Detroit-only line if your reasoning should be implemented. Mostly not for the gain of Zetterberg's, but rather for the other two who at this stage of their careers could use a boost at this level. I think Bäckström is too good offensively to bury on a clear cut third line, ice time-wise.
