Traverse... Steady? Do you need me to get you the definition of Steady? Because Traverse ain't it.

I would have kept Dykhuis over Bouillon simply because I believe Dykhuis can rebound from a bad year... he WAS one of our most steady D-men in both 2000-2001 and 2001-2002. But I'm not disappointed with the move as Bouillon is much younger and grittier. I'm sure age had alot to do with it.

I'm MORE THAN HAPPY to see Traverse go though... beautiful!!!

As for who will go next. I'm positive it will be Higgins, Plekanec, and Hainsey.

The article clearly states all 11 players. Doesn't anyone read. They are beauchemin, perezokin, ferland, carpentier, dagenais, fichaud and damphousse and gratton,

Yup, Hainsey and Beauchomen will probably play more now, which is a good thing

It's doubtful he gets clamined cause he would have to stay in the NHL all season. His salary is very attractive, but has very little NHL experience. I would be surprised and extremely pissed if he's picked up.

...Because to send him down he'd have to clear waivers again?

Ribeiro ???

Ribeiro is definitely part of the future with the Habs. He is the best player so far (with Souray) during training camp, and he will be a valuable second line centre for years to come.

I hope Gainey will pick up a couple of gritty players in the waiver draft, and release Juneau and Dackell in the process.

If Hainsey doesn't show more HEART soon, he will be send down to Hamilton. Beauchemin might be picked up, but I guess he will be back in Hamilton this year.

The seven D-men for the beginning of the year are:

Markov
Souray
Rivet
Brisebois
Quintal
Komisarek
Bouillon

This is what Traverse did with Senators and Bruins why wouldnt they have him back- Did you forget Traverse was playing between 10-15 minutes per game with the Habs- Is it his fault Theo couldnt stop a Volks beetle going through his legs last year
What are those numbers supposed to prove? Nothing really impressive there. Except maybe his +/- on few occasions.

10-15 minutes a game? Thats from last year. Traverse was the defenseman with fourth highest ice time. 20:11 / game. Thats not so 10-15 now, is it? Sure, Theodore didn't play great.. but Traverse was litteraly the cause for many of those goals.

the most likely hab to get claimed is beauchemin, and if that happens i'll be really upset. why we are keeping bouillon instead of him is way beyond me. oh well. i'm happy management felt confident enough to cut dykhuis and traverse. i wonder if either will get claimed on waivers. it's possible.

If he's picked off waivers and sent to the AHL at any time, we can have him back. Bouillon is an example from last year.

Sweet!
That's really reassuring to hear.
I suppose that also explains how we got Boullion back if we claimed off waivers.
Thanks for the calming info, Dan!
