Kypreos said that the Washington Capitals are kicking tires on Ryan Miller.

Kypreos, a lot of pressure on McPhee right now. We would be saying the same about Nonis right now if he didn't have a contract for next year

Guess whats been speculated recently about the interest is true. Who knows if anything will even come from it but knowing GMGM I wouldn't put it past him as a last chance move to save his job

If he's as desperate as he was last year with the Erat-Forsberg fiasco, this could be the best thing to ever happen to the Sabres.

Makes sense cause at the trade deadline last year we were going to hold a press conference.

Insiders were saying Buffalo only then to find out it was Erat?

That was just one of them. I think the other one fell through

I feel the same about that, will for awhile cuz all we heard about is a Buffalo deal with tons of names be thrown around. No way you call that huge press conference and alert all the media just for Erat

Kypreos also said that the Wild were interested and he heard that Coyle was being dangled.

What does Washington have that they can pawn off for Miller?

3 years ago they had a great team PLUS an awesome farm system. Thats not the case anymore. Whats going to be the big piece from Washington? Wilson? A roster Dman? I hope not Kuznetsov....

I would gladly take any one of Wilson/Burakovsky/Kuznetsov.

Gladly.

So what's the best guess, Tom Wilson and a 1st for Miller? Riley Barber and a first?

Coyle doesnt have me picking up the phone.

Coyle has me booking a flight to Minn to finalize details and enjoy a steak dinner.

If it's Coyle I don't even need a 1st round pick with it. Sure I would take it but...

I would be quite interested in Wilson if I was the Buffalo GM

Both WAS and MIN have nice, young forwards - exactly what we need.

It's probably a combination of Grubauer, Kuznetsov, and draft picks that he's planning to dangle at Murray. I know that consistent goaltending is an issue for the Caps, but Miller's not going to come cheap and I don't think that they can afford giving up young assets like that; they're a bit of a bubble team.

This is terrifying. Giving up important assets for Miller would be a terrible move for Caps. He would be an upgrade in net but with the holes we have on defense we aren't getting anywhere near the cup regardless of who the goalie is.

Just trade Miller already, Murray. Just to stop all the speculation.

WTF really? For a (very good) UFA rental? You don't "dangle" a talent like Kuznetsov. I think Grubauer alone should do it.

Edit: ESPECIALLY after the Forsberg debacle. McPhee would only include Kuz on a sign and trade with Miller locked down long-term. And even then, he really shouldn't.
