I don't think anyone's planning any parades. It's just nice to see the team not play like total **** for once.

Whatever the adversity, I am sure it will pass. Don't sweat the small stuff and remember there is only so much you can do with a day. I too had a rough time last Fall with work, but you learn to find the positives and not to get caught up in feeling overwhelmed by what you didn't or couldn't do. Best of luck to you.

No, but close. #Habs 5-1-0 when Briere plays less than 10:00 RT @bobhabs46: @ArponBasu 6 wins ?!

5-1 when Briere plays less than 10 minutes, my goodness that doesn't bode well for him.

Ha! Too funny...

Maybe Danny will want to go back to Buffalo where at least he will feel wanted?
Steve Ott please.

I think you need to go back and read this thread again, there's significantly more negative comments than positive ones.

This game didn't prove anything, but it's nice to see good games from the players getting nonstop hate around here - Gorges, Emelin, Desharnais, Eller, Bourque, even Murray.

More like Drew Stafford for Nygren + Briere at 50%.

With an average goalie that game is likely a loss or goes to OT. Our best player won us that game. And if we make the playoffs it will be because he dragged us there.

I am almost scared to go in with this team....

Price gets whipped out in rd 1 ,look out,the entire house could come fallin down .

It might be best we do miss...at least this way we avoid a catastrophe.

I only watched the third period and the Canes had literally no pressure. The game had so little flow and just back and forth in the neutral zone. I hope for the sake of people who watched the entire game wasn't like that.

Then again it couldn't have been if Carey stole the game.

In their defense, the Habs were looking pretty good to start again. Once again, the team played prevent defense as soon as they had a lead. I understand getting more defensive with a 3 goal lead, but the best defense is to actually have the puck as much as possible and not let the opposition shell your goalie.

Habs were the better team in the 1st and 3rd periods. Still not enough for a team with their backs against the wall, but unlike previous games, this win was not only Price. This is probably the first game since the start of the season where all the forwards except Briere executed their roles.

Price was great, but the team was very committed to defensive zone responsibility tonight. Murray was Hal Gill-esque at times and Gorges was composed all night. Give the boys some credit - they deserved that game tonight. Public enemy #1 also managed the ice times a lot better this evening.

The 3rd was the Canes worst period. From my perspective, they dominated our forwards for the first 2 periods. Our d played really good in our end and cleared the puck when they needed to and blocked shots the rest of the time. Add in Price was in Vezina mode and Carolina was tired and frustrated.

They had 36 shots and we blocked 26 more. Think about how poor the Canes looked in the one period you watched, how could have the rest of the game have been of the Canes had 60 shots / attempts in 2 periods. Luckily we capitalized on our chances.

Missed the third period but, as a whole, Montreal moved across the ice as a unit for the first two periods. They applied MT's system and looked more menacing in a lll zones.

Perfect performance? No. Good performance? Absolutely….

3-0? Fabulous. Just fabulous.

Coyotes beat the Kings 3-0 as well. Just a great night overall.

Boy that canes d can even make the Habs look good at times. I'm not calling this a slump buster by any means, as the Habs still give away too many scoring chances, but I thought the d did a better job of simplifying things. You saw a lot more pucks rung around the boards, rather than high risk plays up the middle.

I still would really like to see emelin on the pp. he once again showed ability to one time the puck tonight.
