The defense has held them to 13 shots. The offense has produced chances. The big difference is their goalie making a couple huge saves.

Downie can not play that aggressive when he's on that shut down line. Brutal.

They just had Hall in his place. Raffl is better suited for it though.

While I've been a bit critical of Mason so far, his rebound control has looked better overall tonight.

He is a good, 40-45 point hockey player who brings grit... watching him in Tampa and Colorado he was similar to how he was when he first came here, chipped in offensively, played ok two ways, brought grit and a good forechecker.

He has just looked a different player since his first ~10 games. Duno why.

The Flyers have been on par with them so far, the difference is the goalies.

I don't know how anyone could blame any of the goals on Mason in this game. Yeah, it would have been nice for him to make a great stop on one of them, but it also would have been nice to have one of them blocked up high by forward, or have had a defender box out the guy getting to the front of the net, or had a forward be more aware to not allow an odd man rush.

One thing I've liked about Bruce-teams are the zone entries. When Washington wasn't a gong show towards the end of his tenure, there was good puck support and drop passes going into the zone...that also allowed the lead guy to get to the net for any rebounds/screen while the recipient tried for a shot. I see he's got the Ducks doing it too. It's fun to watch when it's working.

Voracek is excellent at looking like a threat, but ultimately never making anything of it

Your goalie has to make big saves every once and a while, especially when you're playing the best team in the league. It's often an unfair expectation, but hey, that's why it's the most important position in sports.

The guy in the Seating commercial at the bar with the black flyers jacket looks like the Ultimate Tool.

I suppose... but when he came back initially he looked the same, then just trailed off.
