Sean O'Donnell Appreciation Thread

I think he was a fantastic addition to our broadcast team. I love his neutral and honest analysis of the game and his insight from his personal experiences is very interesting. Hopefully he becomes a permanent fixture with the team for years to come. I also like that he never candy coats things.

He brings solid insight to what the players are going through.

He is very well spoken. I like the guy, he is classy.

I am kind of tired with Jim fox as well.....He is some times(ok most of the time) a complete homer.

I like the fact that Bob Miller gets pissed, when the Kings play like trash.

Fox is not as bad as Hayward or those Pitt guys, but he is up there.

Pitt.....O god , I have no idea how Pitt fans can stand those two jack off's ...

"THE STRENGTH OF CROSBY", is like all that comes out of those two idiots mouth's.....

I like the sudden hate for Jim Fox in a Sean O'Donnell thread.

I think Odie's a good balance for Patrick O'Neal.

I personally love Seans honesty and straight forward analysis. Unlike fox where he sugar coat everything.

I'd take him back on the Kings' blueline.

I'll join in on this one. When OD was playing for the Kings, the media would always turn to him for his game analysis. He was always so great at that....good speaking voice, very precise with is speaking. At that time, I kept hoping he'd turn to announcing for the Kings when he retired. Sadly had to wait a few years while he was playing elsewhere, but he's back now and I'm thrilled. Foxy just rambles on and on way to much imo

Love OD. He tells it like it is and does a great job of ignoring Patrick O'neal's poor humor attempts and dribble.

He's fantastic. And very even-keeled, even when talking about extremes. Not many guys are that good at balancing their emotions, and I don't mean in terms of ties to the team, I mean in terms of hyperbole.

I think his dealings with Patrick are perfect--he humors him just enough to not look like an ******* but doesn't over-indulge him

I don't think I've seen a defenseman any slower than Robyn Regehr. He makes Charlie Huddy look like Paul Coffey.

So you're putting your bet on the big green one that's ahead?

So long as it doesn't have overgrown ears, I think the big green one comes ahead. I think Regehr's ears act as a parachute, which explains why he has difficulty catching up with the play when the puck gets behind him.

I forgot the aerodynamic aspect...good call. It's like having a rear spoiler on a Honda...that isn't even tuned.

By inches...

Those ears create a ton of drag. Good point.

He definitely complements O'Neal, and I'm surprised at how he keeps his cool when Patty makes a fool of himself (pretty much once every segment). It's fun as hell to watch O'Neal mindlessly bob his head in agreement with OD's analysis. I'm just prayin' that FOX can keep him onboard. He's on par or better than some of the guys currently on NBC and NHL Network.

OD has been very good. he was a bit shaky at first, but i think that was more with getting comfortable in front of the camera.

now i think he dialed in and is very clear and concise in his assessments.

i hope they keep him long term on TV. it wouldn't surprise me if they overhaul the TV team when Bob decides to hang it up. they may see it as an opportunity to inject new life into one of the public facing sides of the team.

i wouldn't mind a Nick N - OD team on the TV broadcasts honestly.
