What happens to Matt Frattin this offseason ?

Title says it all.

It's obvious he is not an everyday roster player with the Kings.

He is a RFA at years end, no doubt Lombardi will throw a low money, two year deal at Frattin.

But do the Kings really want Frattin taking up a contract/slot/Roster spot ?

He'll probably end up on another team, and pot 20. Thats normally what happens.

He'll be packaged in a deal to move up in the draft or moved in some other deal.

Just another youth being played out of position thrown in over his head and when he didn't take off got benched for a month? That's how you get guys going Sutter!!!

Hasn't done anything at RW either.....Hasn't displayed any tools Lombardi raved about.

How is that Sutter's fault ? Sutter was not the one, who put Frattin on this roster to play LW.

Sutter ended that experiment like five games into the season....

The Majority of Frattin's games have been on the RW(third/fourth line), and he sucked doing it.

That's on Frattin, not Sutter.

I know you want to blame Sutter for everything. But regardless of who is coaching; the players are responsible for their own play on the ice.

Just seen the same story way too many times. Sutter benching guys not getting them in the game to work on their play. Guys leave this F'd system and have career years.

It's not like this team is going to make the playoffs anyways so I really don't get what Sutter's issue is about taking some risk in games.

The Kings would have to play well below .500 to miss the playoff's.

The odds of that happening are about, what the odds would be of the Kings getting Home ice....long shot.

The Kings will make the playoff's. It will just most likely be a first round match up with ANH or Chicago. One the road to start.

Make the system a bit easier on the forwards and put him on the fourth line if possible. I'm sure all of our forwards would want a less energy expending system.

Hopefully packaged w/other assets for an upgrade on LW, or D, or traded for a pick before the offseason.

I don't know, Boston plays a pretty demanding system, they seem to be rolling along.

Maybe the players should, you know sack up ?

Maybe Frattin is just not that good ? He didn't exactly light the world on fire in Toronto.

Well Boston plays against the east and they struggled a lot this year as well. Not a coincidence. Our players should sack up, but with consistency issues are system should be more wide open for forwards and tightened back up for the playoffs.

He won't be qualified and will become a UFA and sign a two-way contract with another team as a bottom six winger. He'll join the prestigious list of players who had a cup of coffee with the Kings and left no mark whatsoever, like Sandy Moger.

I'd be ok with the Kings playing the Ducks in the first round, it wouldn't be ideal, but I still believe we can beat them.

Just want to get people's thoughts, if the Kings will actually retain him.

Hell, if he even deserves it at this point, Frattin has been underwhelming.

I think folks are being unnecessarily hard on him. He hasn't produced (which, duh, is what we need), but he has flashed the skills that were talked about. Definitely inconsistent, but coming back from major injury.

He'll pot 20 easily somewhere else next year, then everyone will complain, and the circle of life will go on.

Personally I'd give him one more year depending on the price but I also think it will come down to choosing him or Lewis

This is why I love you. You see the bigger picture. You're not all about "what have you done for me lately"?

Give him another year. The system here and in T.O. Is different, especially the way the Leafs had more of an offensive style during the strike shortened season.

I like him as I saw him play a lot in the AHL and he was successful with the Marlies during their run to the Calder Cup Finals a few years ago.

I think he can be a very serviceable player for this team. He won't put up sexy numbers but if utilized properly he can certainly help out.

He is awful. Biggest disapointment of 2013-2014. Kings game him a spot next to Carter and Richards and he blew it. Granted, it was his off wing, BUT he was playing next to one former and one current Olympian.

It's partly Lombardi's fault for having such a man crush on him and including a RW in the Bernier deal, considering we are loaded at RW and weak at LW. Should have been a guy like Kulemin or another LW prospect from the Leafs plus Scrives and a 2nd.
