Pinnizzoto earned a spot. too bad. Would've liked to see a random 4th line of Joensuu-Yakimov-Pinni.

Wow, I think we just lost Pitlick. If Klefbom gets sent down does he go on waivers?

What a wasted asset in Pitlick. No reason why he couldn't have been a 12th or 13th forward to start. He brought much needed energy.

Is Acton is still there? Wouldn't surprise me at all if Eakins keeps him to start the season. It really pays to be the son of a coach around here.

Me too :-(

I am guessing Perron is fine for the opening then.

Surprised they are keeping Yakimov for opening night. That guy needs big minutes at this point in his career having him in the press box is a waste.

I don't like it but if he clears waivers he will get another year to work on his offense and overall game with Nelson in OKC. He will be our first winger call up for injuries and can slot in anywhere in the lineup IMO as a stop gag.

Aka we will actually have a real player in the minors that once called up will not be a complete disaster.

I think re-entries were eliminated.

Not sure how Pitlick gets waived and Acton is still around. One decent game? Maybe waivers more to come I guess.

I dunno. He has very little offense and hasn't proven anything at the NHL level.

Acton over Pitlick? Not the end of the world, but I don't see what Acton brought that Pitlick did.

I don't like that Acton is still here. I get that he's a good penalty killer and he can play center, but he didn't deserve to be here over Pinizotto and Pitlick.

I understand dropping Pitlick, he has no hands at the NHL level. He'll get called back up at some point, I don't think anyone will claim him.

Klefbom doesn't need to clear waivers yet. Neither does Marincin either at this point I think. Not that Marincin will be headed down any time that I can see.

Obviously the tough actin' personality.

More surprized they set Pinnizotto down than Lander and Pitlick, but I think they will both clear. The good thing is after they clear they can be sent up and down all year without having to clear again.

Does Yakimov stick now?

He was outplayed by Joensuu, Pinizotto, Yakumov, and dare I say Acton. Pitlick was invisible last night...and aside from the big hit on Horvat really did not do a whole lot. the others at least picked up some points and in the case of Acton and Pinizotto showed a willingness to mix it up. IMO, Pizzizotto will be claimed and Pitlick will make it to OKC.

He bring his last name and his previous experience as a member of the Leafs system.

According to the roster, I think we still have these guys that may not be on the main roster:

Acton
Arcobello
Gazdic
Hamilton
Khaira
Joensuu
Westgarth
Yakimov

Davidson
Hunt
Klefbom
Marincin
Nurse

I might be wrong on a couple of those, because the list I took it from is from a couple days ago and still had Bachman on it. Either way though, I know some players, like Khaira and Hunt, are still up and will probably go down.

Arcobello and Marincin are probably shoo ins, probably Joensuu too, but I think this illustrates there are still lots more cuts to come.
