Perhaps, but I'd be happy with him staying healthy and training at home.

Marinčin is playing great in pre-WHC camp. Hopefully, he is saving his first goal for the WHC

Wow, nice dangles.

Is he wearing an A in this video? And is the team the Slovak team?

Where will he play on the Slovak team at the WHC? could he play 1st pairing?

Laurent Brossoit with a shutout as Bakersfield won 2-0. His 3rd shutout of the playoffs.

This was last pre-WHC game against Norway and yes he had A on his jersey(som older guys were resting, so he get an A). He assisted on OT goal.

He will play at he WHC on second pairing with another young guy Peter Čerešňák.

The ECHL players must hate him. Way to many shutouts

He is the captain at Cornell, and another year may serve him well. But I could see the Oilers being interested in adding a big young forward to OKC.
Would be nice if the Ivy league = hockey IQ

Why the burnout in the AHL vs CHL and others? Just curious.....

CHL is versus 16/17/18 year old s still figuring their games out. Also there is a bigger size difference.

The AHL is against men and is a much better telling point. The AHL is a much tougher league and a gateway to the NHL. Its not uncommon to see 100 pt CHL players fizzle out in the AHL

Bakersfield now in the Western Conference final against Alaska (Olivier Roy). Edmonton vs Calgary, ECHL style.

That's just perfect. We'll see who is the better goalie prospect.

Hardly since Roy is a couple of seasons ahead of Brossoit. Personally I'd take Brossoit over Roy without thinking twice.

It's high time the Oilers stopped bringing in veteran starters in the AHL. Gerber, Danis and Bachman for 4 seasons. Time to let the youngsters feel the real pressure of the pro game.

Brossoit - 45 games in OKC
Tuohimaa - 30 games in OKC

Bunz - 50 games in Bakersfield

Rimmer - try to find another organization in AHL, CHL, or ECHL

At this point I think they keep Rimmer over Bunz.

I agree. Safe to say bunz most likely wont be back next year unless there is some kind of revolution in his attitude and play

Why? because he got injured in the playoffs? Ty Rimmer played most of his games in the CHL this year.

Any info/rumours on whether the Oilers will sign either of Zharkov or Gustafsson before they lose their rights?

Honestly, the CHL and ECHL are pretty much equal in terms of talent, and mostly it'd be his .900 save % in his 2nd year in the league. He hasn't exactly shown anything much in his 2 pro years.

purely speculation, but based on our depth at defence, one has to think that they will not qualify Gustafsson.

I think they'll qualify Zharkov though, and I hope to see him at camp. I believe he has one year left on his KHL deal. I'm not sure if he has an out for NA in that contract though. I'd rather he be developed here(OKC, I mean), because he's way lower on the depth chart on his KHL team.

20 points in 50 games in the SEL as a D-man, and 6'01 200lbs isn't anything to scoff at. He's older and a bit more mature, and is playing in men's league, where he has done quite well in his first real season. He had played a year in the SEL already, but I'm assuming he was given better minutes and better quality line-mates. I hope we qualify Gustafsson.

Zharkov is probably as good as gone.

You can't qualify him without signing with to an ELC first and with a contract already in place in the KHL, I don't see that happening.

It's too bad. I think he's an interesting prospect. =/
