No doubt, and looking like he has the frame to play at 225 comfortably

Wasn't it MacT that said recently that Nurse is already over 200?

I hope Marincin is putting on some weight this summer. I like his game but he still has to be about 210lbs with his height.

Seems like some people were rather pleased with how Nurse and Khaira looked at the Jasper camp.

As promising as the news about Nurse's growth has been, you have to think he's still a huge long-shot to make the team next year. With Fayne, Petry, Nikitin, Ference, and Schultz in the lineup along with Aulie as a our seventh defenceman, I see room for one of Marincin, Klefbom, or Nurse to make the team this year. At this point, Marincin is the likely guy to start the year with the club and I'd be happy with that.

Nurse is a guy who I want to see the Oilers really take their time with. Let him go back to juniors for one more year and absolutely dominate - make team Canada and captain the team! Trading a guy like Petry and then slotting Nurse into the lineup would be a big mistake.

Damn...Nurse. Only thing keeping him out last year was his weight. If he's 210 by camp, it'll be VERY hard to keep him out. He'll be better than Ference and Nikitin for sure. Look at what Maata did after only one more year in Junior after his draft, and Brodin, among others.

Does anybody have access to Khaira's and Moroz's interview on Stauffer's OilersNow radio show? I check their soundcloud but I can't find did. Did they even end up being interviewed?

I hope Marincin puts at least 10lbs on this off season. I think that he has to get some size on him to be effective over an entire season and the size of guys that he has to keep with down low. That is one thing I like about Klefbom is that he has the size and strength already. I think in two seasons Klefbom will be better as long as he stays healthy. I like the idea that Klefbom can play the left and right side. Maybe in the future we will see a Marincin and Klefbom pairing.

Maybe this has already been said, but there's a ton of interviews up on the Oilers official site with a bunch of prospects down in Jasper.

We'll see how Nurse plays in training camp but at this point it's really tough to pencil him in even if he looks ready. The difference between Nurse and Pietrangelo is the World Juniors.. Pietrangelo made the team in his post draft season, Nurse didn't. I would rather send him down and give him that experience. Then he can get another sniff in OKC once his OHL season is over before stepping in full time the next season.

Nine games at most is what he should have. If he absolutely shocks the Oilers in those games then there's a decision to be made..

Nurse should have made the WJC team this year. It was a very questionable decision not to include him.

Thanks, what does Platzer bring outside of a good shot?

His shot is ridiculous, besides that he brings great work ethic and competitiveness.

Like Brock said though, he lacks desirable size and the production just hasn't been good enough.

Anyone know why Slepy didn't come over for the orientation camp? Didn't he want to come last year but had visa issues ?

He has to maintain the aura of mystery. If he comes over early his mystique is blown.

He will only come over when Eberle goes down while we are in the playoff hunt and Slepyshev will emerge from under the Oil drop while Rogers place () Gasps in confusion.

Then hell go onto score 20 goals in 10 games

So I was checking out Khaira on eliteprospects and noticed he had a brother, Sahvan.

Looks like he's going to be playing for Seattle in the WHL next season and he's eligible for the 2016 draft.

The thing that blew me away though is he's 16 years old and already 6'1''/212lbs!

That's one scary big family.

Good find.

Plays D... so could end up as a 6'5" 240 pound blueliner... someone to keep an eye on as he develops these next few years.
