3 HR's and 7 RBI's for Braun. Ouch.

Well this game is most certainly over. Pitching sucked today.

Go flyers!

Braun is back, just in time to not miss any of the Flyers game.

Didn't he have something like .185 coming into this game?

Braun torches the Phillies.

It didn't help that Kendrick & Lincoln are flat out terrible.

Lincoln will probably be let go once Adams/Hamels can come back.

Looking at games to bet on today but nothing is really popping out there. On a streak right now and don't want to just bet to bet. I want winners!

Check this site for some ideas:
http://www.fangraphs.com/livescorebo...ate=2014-04-09

It's better closer to gametime when the lineups are set.

It's really crazy looking around the league how much teams have changed, while the Phillies roster has remained mostly the same since 2007. The next generation of impact players has seemingly arrived.

He's only a Phony if he went back to the roids yesterday (which I'm a little nervous about myself), otherwise Braun is just really good.

Also he made the diving catch to rob the Phillies of two runs so it's 4 to 3 to 9 Braun wins.

We have some possible talent at lower levels but Amaro refuses to use them. Case and point, getting guys like Hernandez and Nieves instead of simply giving Rupp and Buchanan a chance.

Buchanan had a 4.82 ERA in AA last year. He had a nice first month but he's nothing more than a depth guy.

Where would you like Rupp to play?

Buchanan didn't just have a good spring training. He ended the year great in 2013 including getting a promotion to Lehigh in August with a 3 ERA in 6 starts. He is not a stud but he would've been fine as a 4th or 5th starter and he deserved a look after spring. Instead they decided to go with the older guy again instead of giving the young guy a shot. And it cost them 4.5 million to do it. Why? It's just a waste of money.

Rupp as a backup catcher. Ruiz doesn't have to play every game like he's doing now. Are we keeping Rupp at AAA for another three years until Ruiz's contract runs out?

Who was the old guy they went with exactly? Pettibone is next in line to start.

To play once a week? It doesn't make sense at this point. He has 250 ABs above A-ball. He needs to play everyday. He's come out firing. It's nice to see, but it makes doesn't make sense for him to sit on the bench now. The backup job will be waiting for him next year if he doesn't fall on his face.

That was a crazy lucky catch by Hernandez at first.

I'm talking about Hernandez and his $4.5 mil contract. Why not go Pettibone and Buchanan to round out the rotation? Save money and see what the young guys can do.

I was trying to imply that I wanted him to play more than once a week. So we're just going to wait until next year and then he can sit on the bench as a backup? I don't care how many at bats he has. He's 25 years old. What are we waiting for? If the guy is playing well then bring him up.

I don't understand what's so wrong about either of these moves. It saves money and maybe one of these young guys will surprise us. What is the harm in trying? The Phillies are not good. This team as constructed is not gonna make the playoffs. So let's give the young guys a chance.
