There's a good chance in that.

Shocker that the Columbus Rangers are interested

Bring back Anisimov! I'd love Foligno. He's a New Yorker. Cam Atkinson is a local kid, but no way Columbus trades him, right? Same with Boone Jenner.

Rangers play at 7, curious to see if Callahan is scratched

Would be weird to see him in Columbus, they need more of a pure scorer type winger.

So what would balance out Stewart for (5-6 year re-signed) Callahan?

Once he's traded he'll be signed within a day or so. He's had trouble staying healthy. I wouldn't offer up all that much for a really good 3rd liner.

St. Louis or Columbus will get him IMO.

Don't think it matters because Callahan wants more money and years than Steen.

What about something around Steve Ott, Buffs 2nd round pick (30th overall) for Ryan Callahan

If we're able to work something out ahead of time with Callahan and his agent I'd be fine with that. I think Rangers fans would likely want a bit more if it was a sign and trade.

What does Vancouver give up to get him? Kassian + 1st?

Callahan is just a better version of Kassian. With the Canucks team not getting any younger, it probably makes sense for them.

I am not sure many Blues fans would agree with the statement, but I'd put Rattie on the table

He's a lot more than that...Kassian has promise, but he doesn't have anywhere close to Callahan's drive and two-way game yet/if ever.

It does raise an interesting question, though; what sort of pieces is NYR looking for in return? Help at forward, defense, prospects, picks, combination of the above?

Hmm... I doubt the Blues would sign him for that long seeing how he is I see more of a 2-4 year deal from the Blues. Mainly for how they sign people.

Seeing Cally's injures in the past 2 years. I'd offer Stewy+1st+a Forward or Defensive Prospect that is not Jaskin or Rattie for Cally+2nd or 3rd. But I'm also horrible at making offers so yeah. lol, I'm not the best person to say "make an offer"

So don't use my offer for anything.

The Rangers have no #1 RHD without Girardi, Stralman is a UFA after this season too and Klein isn't a #1, he could be a #4 if really needed, but he is mostly likely set to be Moore's partner for next season which makes him the 3rd pair RHD

Without Girardi and not knowing if Stralman is resigned (it appears he will be)

It would be

Klein on the RHD and thats it

Phoenix maybe? Callahan would fit in nicely with Tippet's two-way philosophy IMO and would provide a much needed top six winger. If he signed long term he'd probably be Shane Doan's successor as captain.

Everything but a d-man. We're pretty set too be honest.

1st rounder, b prospect minimum, youngish forward are all very interesting pieces. Not saying that we expect all of that, but those kind of pieces would be nice to obtain.

Cost will go up if it's a sign & trade. Callahan is well respected around the league by GMs.

1st + b prospect for an unsigned callahan

1st + youngish roster player for a signed callahan

something like that.

As much as I'd like Callahan to be on the Penguins there is practically a 0% chance of us trading for him. Best chance we have is in free agency if he doesn't re-sign before then.

Would need Girardi as well (with us adding a decent piece)

Wow, seems like there's a good chance of him being traded. Didn't think it'd actually happen. For all my complaints about him, I will miss him if/when he gets traded.
