I think it was just BTN scheduling.

When the Gophers played Penn State on Sunday/Monday, it was because Penn State requested the later series so their students would be back from break. I don't think this series was similar to that, though.

Welcome to big ten hockey (loud boos!).

Crowd should how "great" a Thursday game is. Less than 10k for a gopher game? LOL thanks Barry...

This is disappointing. I'm guessing they didn't want to battle basketball for ratings.

BTW - If what you say is true (and i don't agree AT ALL with what you're saying) and UW couldn't get up for a game against their biggest rival at home with big Pairwise implications on the line, then I'm even more certain your team won't make it out of a regional this year unless Rumpel plays out of his mind.

You're probably right, actually. The lineup is a train wreck right now.

So basically you guys are saying that not only does BTN treat hockey the same way ESPN treats the NHL, but it gets to dictate scheduling in order to better convenience basketball?

I'm actually really happy with the way BTN is treating college hockey. Double headers every Friday, full pre-post game shows, plus games every once in a while you get a game on Thursday/Saturday.

There's more college hockey on TV now than there ever was before the B1G hockey conference. If that means a couple games per season on odd nights, that's fine with me.

Planned on getting tickets tonight. Didn't realize how close the game was to a sellout and now it's sold out.

Heard the Gopher student section is busing students to the game, and know a ton of Gopher fans that made the trip. Should be a great atmosphere.

@MNstateofhockey
That dominant shift UW just had was because they forechecked the heck out of the gophers and caused them to make mistakes. Something I didn't see much of last night.

Fasching's hit should have been 5 and McCabe's should be 5.

Edit: Yep McCabe gets the 5.

Looked shoulder to shoulder to me. Elbow came up on the follow through.

Ben Clymer is such a homer. That Mersch hit WAS interference and he DID follow through with an elbow to the head. But hey it's the gophers and they're #1 so they can get away with it.........

Well it is harder to get into Madison than into Minneapolis. Just saying...

They had a thing going a couple years ago (might still be going) where any Minnesota school (other than the gophers) that would come to Madison would be called "gopher rejects" and then when the gophers come to town the "badger rejects" chant would come out.
