We always saved "Gopher rejects" until the game was in hand; it would be kind of embarrassing to chant that and then lose the game, haha.

Although one of the most fun times I ever had in the student section was my sophomore year ('10) when we were getting killed by Bemidji, and sang a modified "National American University" song for Bemidji

Was that a "let's go gophers" chant I just heard? Oh well it just got drowned out haha. Rumpel playing great early here in the third.

Wait did Besse just deck Parenteau when Parenteau tried to hit him? Besse isn't physical, I must be blind.

I'm guessing there have been many 3 pt weekends. I can remember many splits though.

I'm shaking right now. What an incredible game! Very evenly matched and well fought by both teams! Rumpel played phenomenal all weekend and IMO deserves the #1 star of the week.

Well, tip of the cap to the Badgers, and specifically Rumpel. They played well.

Gophers lose consecutive games for the first time this year. Can't be too upset. To only have 4 losses in February is pretty spectacular.

I know it sounds cliche, but in a way this might be a good thing. Young team, maybe they started reading their press clippings. I think they'll remember how crappy this feels, and hopefully it will be helpful later on in the season, and in the tournament.

Put this weekend behind you, chalk it up as a learning experience, and onto next weekend, which may very well decide the B1G championship.

I couldn't sit/stand still for the last 5 minutes of gameplay. First sweep of a #1 team since defeating the Fighting Sioux exactly 10 years ago today.

#1 vs #2 this week in women's hockey. I wish the fill-the-bowl game was on tv because the badgers are looking to break another women's hockey single game attendance record. Great way to advertise to people that pay no attention to women's hockey.

Lakeville North's 1st, 2nd, & 4th leading scorers all commited to SCSU tonight. Here's the kicker, they are all brothers. Jack, Nick and Ryan Poehling. Jack and Nick are twins and juniors, Ryan is a freshman

All good players, I think Ryan will end up being the best of the bunch, with the twins being role players at the D1 level. I'd compare them to the Reillys in that regard.

The kid that really interests me on that team is Jake Oettinger the freshman goalie. The kid is already 6'3 195 and he shut out Hill.

At the Gopher game tonight to get my hockey fix. Absolute domination the second half of the first period by the Gophs but only 1-0 so far.
