I've read several reports that has EDM pushing Hemsky to a lot of teams. Why would Montreal want him? Is the Edmonton Journal now afflicted with Eklunditis?

Oh yeah because something we don't have an abundance of in our line-up is small skilled playmakers..

Hemsky is a bum, just watched him play in the olympics had a shot from the slot passed it up to pass to the side of the net, dude missed it puck went in corner. That sums up all you need to know about him

Cause they saw that we GAVE McDonagh for Gomez, kept Bouillon and gave a big contract to DD.

So hey; why not try Montreal they thought..?

But yeah, welcome to the new boss. He's not the same as the old boss. He's ... Hugo Boss.

Seeing how he's playing right now makes me so interesting in getting him..... Actually, today, watching him made me say this "Thank god we did NOT acquire him....".

First grossly overpaying for Yakupov now you want Hemsky? When did Gainey or Milbury join Hfboards?! I admit I wanted Yakupov until I watched some oiler games now I wouldn't touch him with a 30 foot pole.

Newspaper talk about Bourque and/or Draft pick. Good news is that if it's Bourque, well if Hemsky doesn't do the job, he's out at the end of the year. So I guess it could end up being Bourque + draft pick for Hemsky. I would NEVER give higher than a 3rd round for Hemsky. Do people have watched him play lately? Geez, only 30 years old and seem on his way down already....In the end, I wouldn't go for him.

Another skilled and injury-prone dwarf?

This team is going nowhere.

if it gets rid of Bork then sure why not, as long as the pick is no more than a 3rd...

For sake of discussion, would you do Briere or Bourque for Hemsky?

Bork yes, Briere no

Edmonton will want a pick or prospect along with him though.

I wouldn't give a pick.
Bourque for Hemsky heads up? Sure, because we'll free up a spot and space for next year. That being said, last time we did that we ended up signing Briere.

In a hearbeat... but it won't happen. Hemsky's UFA at the end of the season. Edmonton ain't stupid enough to trade for a player with a longer contract.

On second thought, they ARE stupid enough, but it still won't happen

I disagree, I think they will welcome a guy with 2-3 years left. They are a team that will have trouble getting UFA guys to sign there IMO

I admit I dont know much about them but they might need some warm bodies to fill out their top 9
