That kind of sucks. I'm not sure who Lowe is looking at for another scoring forward to add to the Oil but Whitney was on the radar.

Oh well.

The Canes are slowly adding some talent. I don't think they'll be push overs. Not great, but definitaly not a team to scoff at on the sched.

Good pickup for the Canes, he should be able to do better than he did last year for the Wings, especially in the Southeast.

Damn. At that price, I really wish we could've traded Sykora and signed him for that.

Great pickup for Carolina.

well, the Canes powerplay just got even better.... then again there was nowhere to go but up. Hopefully Ray can show the type of form he had with the Panthers in the mid 90s.

When Whitney is the go-to scorer for a team, he usually excels (look at his totals in Florida before Bure got there, as well as Columbus in the early years) and puts up a good amount of points.

He doesnt seem to produce as many points when a team around him has another scorer or two. He seems to thrive on getting rythmn with the bulk of ice-time.

One wonders if the Whitney of the pre-Bure days will re-emerge, or will he be relegated to his production of his secondary scorer days.

Good signing by the Canes, put up 76 points his last season in Columbus, he does well when given the ice time.

yep exactly, let's hope he finds back to his old form and play like he did before he went to Detroit.

I had hopes that the Sharks might pick him up , but nevertheless I wish Ray all the best in Carolina

Looks like Carolina is piecing together the players to roll three balanced lines. This team will be competitve. Might not be Stanley bound, but certainly will be able to hold its on once the puck drops. w00h00!

I like it. I've been a big Whitney fan.

Carolina seems to be the type of situation he'd excel in. Good signing.

Carolina has added some decent players this week with Whitney, Stillman, and Tverdovsky and Commodore and Hutchinson last week. Whitney should prosper if he gets a lot of ice time.
