Offers for Stempniak Intensify?

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog/Eklun...ifying/1/57667

Not that Eklund is always right....Lol...

What would it take for the Flames to move him?

I say a 2nd or 3rd round 2014 draft pick to start?

And probably finish. I've been one of the most vocal Stempniak supporters but he's not having a great season. The draft might be weak and teams love to overpay and make odd trades on deadline day but if the Flames can get a 2nd for Stempniak I think they should be pretty happy.

2nd + prospect that needs a change of scenary (ala Nemisez) would be a nice return for the flames

Tedenby wouldn't fit Burke's plans. Besides, we already got a few small forwards already.

A 2nd or 3rd would be fine.

He's playing well now, but that's been his MO throughout his career. Hot then cold. He's a very streaky player.

I heard the Flames like Diaz. Rapha and a 5th would be a nice package for Stempniak. Habs really need size right now.

I'd want the Pens to inquire about him. Seems like a good Dupuis replacement. What would it cost to get Stempniak at 50%?

He is already on a $2.5 million deal and you want the Flames to eat 50%? That better be something awful good the Pens are offering up to get a top 6/9 forward at 1.25 million per.

Pens have like no cap space, so that's why I said Stempniak at 50%. I'd say a 2015 2nd (Pens don't have a 2014 2nd) and a good prospect (like D'Agostino or Sundqvist level)

1st round pick at 50% I would have to think.

I think a 2nd + 4th package at the deadline is fair. He is an up-and-down scorer but he actually plays quite physical and has a solid 2-way play, more built to be a 3rd linne winger who can chip in everywhere, but can still hang on the #2 line if need be. Would be a great add for a playoff team.

Other teams would likely offer that deal without the Flames having to eat salary.

Stempniak is to inconsistent to get more than maybe a 2nd or a solid young player like Muzzin

I'd love to have Muzzin on this team and take off Butler

Personally I think Butler has been really solid this year I would rather move Wideman than Butler.

Brodie - Gio
Russell - Smid/Muzzin
Smid/Muzzin - Butler

I'd be okay with that as opposed to having Butler on the second pairing

2nd + "B" level prospect should get it done. But the Flames should wait 'til the trade deadline, someone will overpay.
