It was reported earlier tonight that Atlanta Thrashers foward Dan Snyder died earlier in the hospital. He was 25 years old. This is devastating and awful news to the entire hockey world and my thoughts and prayers are with the Snyder family.
My condolences to the family and friends of Dan Snyder.
I really can't explain how bad I thought it sucked when I read about this
As for Heatley, young kid, lots of money, buys a Ferrari and drives it fast. The circumstances behind it all will probably always be a bit shaky, and it's obvious that Heatley is negligent. But who knows if both players weren't having a "good time" going fast in the Ferrari. Maybe there's a lot more to the story, maybe that's the entire story.
Regardless, R.I.P. Dan Snyder.
But the tragedy is just doubled if Heatley's life is ruined on top of it, but a jury will figure that out. It's bad enough he has to live with the death of a teammate on his hands, and unless facts come out that tell otherwise it would obviously appear that they were friends.
The fact that Heatley won't be playing hockey this year will hopefully make for a fair trial.
