How does someone go about firing their father?

Toronto is perhaps the only place worse for him other than Montreal after New York. He needs to go somewhere that hockey is not the top sports item every night, get away from the limelight and just play hockey.

Well I've also heard the deal is set and he is signing. I heard PC on Monday! So He will be a Leaf, its just a matter of timing, just like Allison.

Maybee, maybee not.

in those other places he'd be signed on and expected to lead.

Here he'd just be a supporting cast member and might acctually have less pressure on him as a result.

I still don't want Lindros though

Hopefully, however the thread will unfortunately get locked. I say unfortunately however only if this is true.

Who would have thought the Leafs could land two of the most injury-prone players the NHL has to offer in such a short period of time?

Good luck.

If the Leafs signed Scott Stevens/John Leclair also, this rivalry in my books surpasses Ottawa/Toronto

There will be no Philly/Toronto rivalry....

JR helped fuel that. Now Forsberg is there. You watch for the Flyers/Av's games.
That'll be intense.

Very well put. Although, I would add that moving to the west would serve him well too (although of course Im basing the east being the more physical confrence on 2 seasons ago, so the recent wave of free agency might redress that to some degree). I think he would have been good as gold in a a place like San Jose or Anahiem for a year or two just to guage if he still "has it".

Still, from a leaf perspective, this has to be as good as it gets. The former "next one" comes to his boyhood team and says he will play for the league minimum. A team would have to be extremely concerned about locker room atmosphere or completely stacked to say no. Ive heard all the same stories, and I think his father is a snake, but I would love to see Eric bring his career back out of the dump.

marchment is gone, but there's been a Philly-Toronto rivalry for a long time now...

During the 93 world series the Toronto and Philly Zoo's had bets.

If the Phillies won the WS, Toronto would give philly it's Tasmanian Devils

If the Jays won Toronto would and did recieve Koolas.

those guys were so fuzzy

So thats how we got those koalas. I remember when they first came in. Went to see them with the family (they had temporary caging until a fully functional habitat was built I think, but then again that was a while ago).

Ah, didn't realise he was a free agent.

But yeah, the rivalry isn't going anywhere.

With the Flyers defense signings perhaps we'll see him patroling the blueline of the orange of black.

You just need to black out the last ten seconds.

You for real? Intense Flyers/Av's games? Man you guys must really be out of hockey in Chicago.

They play each other once and some seasons maybe none.

Only time there will be a rivalry is in the Finals, slim chance at that.

No Philly/Toronto rivalry? Now I know you're deprived of hockey.

The game within the game will have you see a rivalry between Primeau & Eddie; Hitchcock & Quinn; 2 years in a row exit by the Leafs at the hands of the Flyers; Primeau and Sundin; Philly's towering forwards proving to be too much for the smaller Leafs defence. And the cherry on top: Brashear & Domi.

No rivalry? Get yourself tuned in.

Question about Lindros:

Is he eligible for the same type of performance bonuses given to Allison? These bonuses are only availble to players with over 400 games experience who spent 100 days on the IR in their last contract year.

Did Lindros spend 100 days on the IR? Looking at his game log, I have him spending no more than 97 days on the IR, so I wouldn't think he is eligible.

Does anyone know?
