Sick trade skills. Bench guy long enough till his perceived value is almost 0 then trade him. Those skills.

Why do we always trade from a position of weakness? Diaz had a much greater value during off-season and earlier this season. We traded him at his lowest value possible.

We traded a guy we weren't going to re-sign for a hardworking bottom 6 guy who can be useful.

The only issue is well have a lot of forwards soon, another trade please?

If anything, this should mean Beaulieu is staying which is the best news out of this trade

Obviously top 6 scoring is our biggest problem right now, but Diaz wasn't bringing that back no matter how he was packaged
Complaint is that not that long ago, that Diaz guy who is suddenly no good, was pretty good. And he was NOT a healthy scratch. It's the other idiot coaching who made him that. And sorry but Therrien is not the guy I will base my evaluation on players on. A Weise acquisition is just like a cup contending team in needs of some small tweaking....we are so not there yet. Though, will some in here do believe it, I don't. And frankly, with Bergevin in charge and Therrien coaching, the idea is to try to not destroy this team.....I will be satisfy now if we can limit the disasters with those 2 in charge....and the great Rick Dudley assisting....

I suggest we trade Lars Eller for Matt Hendricks...is it the next step?

Anything to complain. How about you watch him play and make a judgement call?

and IMO habs must be working on something because White is coming back soon, and we have a lot of healthy forwards.
Thanks for saving me some keystrokes. A big 25 year old who can play at the NHL level for a guy who was walking away in July . This makes sense.

Beaulieu is permanent , Prust can move up to where he belongs in the lineup .

Complainers will complain before even seeing this guy play.

Pretty sure we will see the ultra valuable Weber on waivers very shortly.

Top 4 duties with who?? He wouldn't crack the lineup of any contending team. This is the problem with hab fans in general. In that case Desharnais has shown he can be a 1st line center so he should fetch us something pretty decent right? People are clueless

I'm just happy those rumours from earlier in the year about a Diaz extension did not come true.

I like Weise. I'd rather have him than Bourque.

Value during the off-season? You know he was a UFA, right?

He would've just walked for nothing in the offseason.

Diaz lost his spot to Beaulieu. We had a logjam on D.

Weise will be a depth forward and will play until White and Galchenyuk are back. Our call-ups from Hamilton haven't shown enough.

We needed him in first half of the year that's why he was kept.

He was really good in 2011-12 and last season before his concussion. The Canucks will put him beside a competent defenseman who can compliment his game and do the dirty stuff for him. He was paired with #7s this season. We never got to see what he could have done with Emelin or Beaulieu.

Good one, Weise is in no way shape or form better than Moen and he won't intimidate anyone.

Where in the world, did i say dale weise would save our season. You think Diaz would. He hasn't played in over a month, he is a ufa at the end of the season and he wasn't going to resign. So bergevin got what he could out of him and that was dale weise.

Id rather have dale weise playing over parros any day of the week, and the same for beaulieu over diaz.

I don't like the trade but earlier Beaulieu was a big question mark so I understand why he did it.

This deal reminds me of the Sergei Kostitsyn trade, trade a guy when his value at his lowest for close to nothing (Dustin Boyd or Dale Weise, is it really that different?).

I wonder if this means Prust will finally get shoulder surgery, because he just hasn't been himself.
