Tinordi isnt ready to bring the kind of physicality and reliability Murray brings to the team right now, needs to fill his frame and play with more poise with the puck.. I like Pateryn alot, but I see him replacing more a guy like Gorges eventually than a guy like Murray..
Can anyone explain to me the reason behind not being able to play the puck with your glove off a faceoff rule?
I've heard them explain it as a safety thing. If everyone was flopping to the ice to shield it and play it with their hand, there would be trouble. As soon as you let it "a little bit", it gets exploited. And the "esthetics" of a rugby scrum-turned-hand pass over a faceoff drop are probably undesirable for those most concerned with the image of the game, I'd imagine, even forgetting about the safety part.
