Not a single Avs fan said it was a good hit. We feel as though a major was the wrong call. It was a minor.

Na, most of us agrees it was a penalty. Not a major though.

Classic Grossmann, getting skated around or misfiring a pass the majority of the period.

Not a bad period. They spent too much time in their own zone, but did a good job at limiting the Avs chances. Need to score at least one on this major. They could use a momentum swing.

Yeah, watching Grossmann try to break out of our zone is awful. Turnovers everywhere.

that was so freaking dumb what if Mackinnon fell and broke his jaw , you would be looking at +5 games suspension.

He is becoming the weakest link on this team. Replacing him with a better skater would improve that pairing immensely. Streit has been good lately IMO.

I want to kill myself every time they play that commercial. It's reaching the same level of annoying as that Pitbull commercial from last year. I hate you CSN.

I was also talking about the announcers. What they said, they were dumbfounded by it...

A few fans over on your board said it was a good hit and nothing wrong with it. regardless, it's not something that needs to happen to any player at any time.

Exactly. Hartnell takes too many dumb and dangerous penalties for a veteran and leader on this team. It hurts the team and he's never held accountable for his penalties (lack of production he was at least). In fact, no one's held accountable for penalties despite what Berube says.

Honestly though there is no one to play in his place that is better than him.

He takes dumb penalties because he's an aggressive player not because he knows he can get away with it. Expecting Berube to sit on of his better players to make an example in an important game during a playoff race is going overboard. I'm sure he got a talk when he got back to the bench.

It was a bad hit by a fourth liner who got the fourth liner treatment. It would have been the same penalty if it was Rinaldo.

Yeh, he needs someone fast with him... hence why he always plays his best hockey with Coburn.

That is the problem really with our D (apart from a personal issue that leaves players over their heads and a lack of speed/puck skills overall.) a lack of chemistry.

Best pairs (from eye test over last few years... some very limited time together.):

Timonen-Coburn
Grossmann-Coburn
Timonen-Schenn
Gustafsson-Schenn
Streit-Coburn

But non of those can be achieved and get 6 in together in pairs with chemistry!

Pretty much. Hartnell is what he is. Benching him isn't going to change that, nor should they be benching him in such an important game.

Yeah, the main problem is the personnel and something needs to change, hopefully sooner than later. We only need one of Schenn or Grossmann, they have the exact same skill set and deficiencies.

Grossmann's in over his head, he's looking more and more like a 3rd pairing guy. He's great at what he does, but he's way too one-dimensional and those deficiencies make him ineffective against a lot of teams. He's not versatile enough for big minutes.

Is it just me, or does Couts have a hard time receiving passes on a regular basis? Seems like it constantly bounces off his stick.

Gus had less then 4 minutes of ice time in the first. The way he's been playing I really don't get it.
