Clarke is quoted in today's Burlington County Times: "[Therian] is too expensive to be a seventh defenseman. We don't need a defenseman making $2.5 million."
This would seem to apply to Ragnarsson, too, but more relevant is:
"We're not comfortable with any of our five veterans being the seventh."
That seems to place Ragnarsson squarely in the top six.
Any thoughts on the fact that Therian heard through reporters rather than being called by Clarke? Personally I think it's no way to treat the team's senior vet. Yet another PR gaff for Clarkey.
