Hello. I hope that I was not being rude or petty in my previous posts because repeats or not, many of these are neat and interesting finds. Thanks.

Any great player looks odd in a Whalers' jersey.

Ya geez, theres one alright. Came up through the Habs system. #15. Won the Calder in 62, 4X All Star & 4 Cups in Montreal. Only played the one season in Minnesota, traded to New York where he was more than helpful in 71 & 72 when they went deep, good team.

Theres an interesting player. Was Rangers property originally but ran afoul of Management, got into an ugly stick swinging incident with Geoffrion, was sent to the Minors then traded/dumped in Chicago with the rest of the leagues so called "trouble makers". Won a Cup with the Blackhawks in 61. Then Detroit, finally Boston where he was one of Esposito's first linemates. Won another Cup before having to retire due to chronic injuries.

Continued with the 12-13 lockout edition!

Pekka Rinne, Dinamo Minsk (22 GP, 3.08 GAA, .897 SV%)
He was pretty brutal with them, it was the beginning of a nosedive that saw him lose his starting job with Finland at the Olympics. Ironically, Norway's starting goaltender Lars Haugen nearly single handedly carried Minsk to a playoff spot after Rinne put them so far out.

Evander Kane, Dinamo Minsk (12 GP, 1 G, 1 A)
Kane was even worse, he just didn't adjust to the big ice and new country. He was playing really sloppy and took a lot of bad penalties, amounting 47 PIM in just 12 games. Got rocked in only his third game though and seemed to lose a lot of his jump. That may have been the reason for his problems.

Joe Pavelski, Dinamo Minsk (17 GP, 7 G, 7 A)
Pavelski had the most success on Minsk, scoring at just under a point a game pace. His skating payed off and he looked quite comfortable on the big ice. Seemed really confident and was trying a whole bunch of fancy moves. Had Kane not been rocked early on, he and Pav could have really taken off.

Joffrey Lupul, Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg (9 GP, 1 G, 3 A)
Avtomobilist finished dead last in the KHL during the 12-13 season, which might explain why Lupul had only four points and was a -6. Lupul seemed to be considered a huge signing by the Avtomobilist brass and got a lot of ice time but simply didn't have the linemates to do anything spectacular.

Kris Letang, SKA Saint Petersburg (0 GP, 0 G, 0 A)
This one doesn't really count but the deal was signed, Letang was all set up to play for the top team in the KHL but the lockout was resolved a few days later and Letang never got his chance. He probably would have done well with the big ice.

Ryan O'Reilly, Metallurg Magnitogorsk (12 GP, 5 G, 5 A)
O'Reilly wasn't able to negotiate a new contract with Colorado during the summer and decided to reunite with his brother Cal in Russia. However, he signed a two year contract with the opt out clause if he came to an agreement with Colorado. O'Reilly did pretty well until he injured his ankle and decided to terminate his contract.

Ryan McDonagh, Barys Astana (10 GP, 0 G, 3 A)
McDonagh was the first American player to join the KHL because of the lockout and did all right. He wasn't anything special but didn't look bad either.

I'll end it off there, this was a huge post.

I was surprised that you found a pic of Letang in that jersey. I didn't think such a picture existed.

And while we're on a bit of an Islanders tangent, Roberto Luongo when he was drafted:

By the time he began playing pro they'd changed the uniform design, of course.

Not the team but the uniforms for sure for these two.

Petr Klima (1996-97, 16 regular season + 6 playoff games):

Kevin Lowe (1996-98, 71 + 2):

^ the only memory I have from this stint is him being the last off the bench after Marchant knocked out Dallas in 1997, haha.
