He seem to need a line of his own to be the most effective.. Perron-Gordon is a great duo.

OTT doesnt need Gagner.. They have Turris, Zibane down the middle with Lazar most likely joining them next season.
Is that why he's leading our team in goal scoring?

All these proposals for Spezza... if you guys think Gagner is bad defensively you should watch an Ottawa game sometime.

I think spezza's injury history and inconsistancy scares me, but I guess I am in no position to be picky.

If St. Louis doesn't make it to the cup, we offer this deal:

Eberle, Klefbom and out 2014 first pick for Shattenkirk, negotiating rights to Halak (contingent on a deal) and a 2014 or 2015 second pick.

Then sign 2 big two-way wingers and add a few NHL defensemen in FA in late July or early August when they can be signed cheap.

So with news of Zetterburg out and who knows what with Datsyuk does Detroit just look at selling their UFA's and counting this as a re-tooling year? They have Alfie, Cleary and Bertuzzi but shouldn't they get some decent picks and have a year to replenish their prospects?

Cleary and Bertuzzi are basically worthless

What would STL want for Stewart in the off season. If it is not crazy we can try him here and move one of Eberle or Yak for help at 2C or defense.

Just thinking out loud here:

Jordan Eberle

Travis Zajac
Michael Ryder

Top six of:

Hall - RNH - Yakupov
Perron - Zajac - Ryder

Frees us up to move Gagner for a d-man, I think Zajac would have a Perron-esque resurgence in a more offensive system while still bringing size and defensive responsibility.

Thoughts?

Zajac's contract scares me. And he has a NTC.

No thanks. Eberle is worth more tham Zajac and Ryder is nothing we need.

That's a terrible deal for us.

I would possibly make that trade for Pieterangelo and the rights to Halak, but there's a decent chance Klefa could be as good as Shattenkirk in five years. Also, that pick could be an all star center or a top D man in three years.

If the rumours are true and the Preds want at least a 1st round pick back for Legwand; what if we got permission to speak to him and we were able to convince him to sign with the Oil.

Something like Gagner and the 2015 1st for Legwand and Wilson.

Hall - RNH - Yakupov
Perron - Legwand - Eberle
Wilson - Gordon - Hemsky
Hendricks - Smyth - Jones
Gazdic

Either of the 1st two lines could be the 1st line and the 3rd line would be a threat to score as well.

Edit: although I do expect Hemsky to be moved at the deadline so I imagine he'll be replaced by someone.

So we are giving away our 2015 1st round pick for Legwand, terrible do you think sometimes before you hit submit.

If we can do Gagner for Wilson and if he can be our 2C what would it take to get Stewart out of STL he is at an all time low rite now. Then we can trade Eberle for the dman that we need. I would like to get a dman like Bogosian who is only 23 but big can skate and signed long term. He is also a right shooting dman as all our top dmen prospects are left shooting.

I want Legwand here a lot, but not at the cost of the 2015 1st. The top 10 of that draft is insane, and barring a miraculous turnaround we'll still be picking there. That pick will have tons of value, whether we make the pick or trade it at the draft.

Legwand is not going to sign in EDM he will go to a team that is a contender for the Cup. Go trade for Stewart and then move Eberle for a dman.

Wilson would be a good add, but is he really anything more than Gagner?

He has the size and still has some skill. He is a decent 2 way player. Gagner will always have more skill and Wilson will always be better defensively.

I wonder if Nashville has soured on Stalberg? I remember a bunch of us wanted him in the summer, myself included. Stalberg + Wilson for Hemsky + Gagner. Then trade a mid-level pick/prospect for Clifford since we seem to be interested in him.

Hall-RNH-Eberle
Perron-Wilson-Yakupov
Stalberg-Gordon-Clifford
Jones-Hendricks-Gazdic

Speed, speed and more speed. Don't really know much about Wilson other than he was highly touted, maybe he could be a major breakout candidate for us in our top-6. Wilson/Stalberg don't really add physicality to the top 6, however Clifford does and all 3 add size. This allows MacT to solely focus on the backend (and in-between pipes) all summer. Would this make us better upfront?

This thread seriously needs a preview page where you have to spend at least 5 minutes rethinking the proposal you are about to post.

CBJs are not going to trade Murray, Weber is not coming to EDM come on people they have paid two huge bonuses already. Why would Girardi sign with the 29th place team when he can make just as much money on a contender?

If Pittsburgh has expressed interest in Hemmer, does anyone think they would part with Jarry or is that ridiculous, I think that is a stretch but would be a great return.
