Why do Canadians always fall in figure skating?

Well Canada being a tropical country does not have the same familiarity with ice as do other winter sports nations.

Shades of 2002 with the voting scandal involving Canadian figure skaters Jamie Sale and David Pelletier placed second behind Russian pair Yelene Berezhnaya and Anton Sikharulidze. They were later awarded a gold medal.

The fix is in to deny Canada a gold medal in ice dancing according to the French magazine L'Equipe.
French magazine L'Equipe alleges the U.S. and Russia have struck a deal to help each other out at Sochi Winter Olympic figure skating events, which would keep Canada's Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir from the gold.

The magazine quotes a Russian coach, who spoke to the magazine on the condition of anonymity about the "proposed barter" between the two countries.

According to the magazine, the anonymous official said the U.S. has agreed to help Russia win the pairs figure skating and team events.

In exchange, Russia would purportedly ensure Meryl Davis and Charlie White of the U.S. win gold over Canadian champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir.

Isn't this always the case with the judges at the Olympics?
There were some interesting decisions made in the Men's slopestyle last night.
And Hannah Kearney didn't deserve bronze in the Women's moguls after making a huge mistake at the top of her run.

The French newspaper broke the Lance Armstrong story.
It is pretty legit.

Great start for the Canadians though.
They are probably going to get at least one more tomorrow...
In the team figure skating event.

I couldn't sleep so I watched Women's Slopestyle. It's pretty interesting. Too bad O'Brien couldn't medal. When Pancochova smashed her head on the ground it was brutal to see. I'm glad she was able to make it off but I can't help but think that she may have been concussed.

Really shows the importance of helmets. It really saved her from severe injury, the helmet was entirely broken, could have been her skull.

Anderson really killed it on her last run, very deserved win, she was just on another level than the competition.

Another gold for Charles Hamelin.

Moguls finals go at 10am pacific. 4 Canadians qualified in the top 6. Kingsbury and Bilodeau are the heavy favourites going into it.

Wasn't good on his first round, but qualified for the second. Leading in the 2nd now. Points don't carry over from round to round so it's okay.
