There are some impressive centers at least being dangled. I do wonder if Army doesn't have another ace up his sleeve. Though it will be awfully difficult to get any of these guys with no first rounders to play with and Allen, Rattie, and Jaskin seemingly untouchable.

Thanks guys. I knew he was a 2 way center but without getting to see all the games, its hard to notice him. As for the media report, I dont read to much into them. Just last week we were willing to accept halak as our #1.

Not really. That was all pretty much smoke and mirrors. Army has a good poker face. If he really meant what he said about Halak, we wouldn't have Miller right now.

MacDonald to Philly for only a 2nd and 3rd. Homer actually made a solid deal.

Brad Boyes got a 2 year deal from the Florida Panthers.

When it's all said and done and somebody lists Paul Kariya's achievements in hockey, the most impressive might be turning Brad Boyes into a 40 goal scorer.

I still don't know what happened to him. He put up 70 points in Boston, struggled a bit the next year and then promptly put up a 40 goal season here, followed by a 72 point season. Something happened to him to make him this bad.

And he was always more of a playmaker before he came here. It's clear the guy had talent, but man Kariya has made him a lot of money.

Ek saying Halak to Philly picking up interest.

I want Halak to do well and have a shot at the postseason....but I can't cheer for the Flyers. Cannot stand that team. Hope he goes to Washington.

Matthias is rumored to be the other player. Feel bad for Nuck fans, and then I realize I hate the Nucks, so I just laugh.

And they retained 15% of his contract. Gillis needs to be fired for this fiasco.

Errr, wrong. Gillis needs to hook a brother (Army) up.

Fire him for the Kesler fiasco.

Haha, I stand corrected, I was wrong.

Good luck to anyone trying to get me to say that again.

What the hell was Gillis thinking? Not only do they get screwed on the deal now, but they get absolutely boned if Luongo retires early and they get hit with the cap recapture penalties. This trade makes no sense.

They are saying that this resulted from the fallout of Luongo not starting in the Hertiage Classic. If they just would've started him, this probably wouldn't have happened.

This basically ends Vancouver's run as a contender. If they don't get a great return for Kesler, they are going to be a disaster for years.

This has already been one hell of a trade deadline and it's not even deadline day yet. Still have Vanek, Moulson, and Cammalleri to go. As well as Ehrhoff, Gaborik, possibly Edler, and probably another big name or 2 that come out of nowhere.

Possible extensions/trades for guys like Callahan and Stastny.

I'm trying to work it out. Why not just get this done last season and move on?

Still... amazing deal for the Panthers. Their starter now has a $4.5m cap hit, his $5.7 salary in each of the next 4 seasons is still good value in the current market and the the final 4 years they aren't even paying out $6m in total salary.
