Bergevin if you were going to get a minor leaguer from LA get Andy Andreoff he hits fights, add some size like you said you were going to do in the offseason.

This team has some major fundamental issues and these are the only trades he seems capable or willing to make. Drewiske, Weise, Craznik etc. his signings and resignings all have had a net zero to negative effect so far.

I'm not saying to blow your load over a Vanek, Moulson etc. but these trades are effectively useless at a time when we need something to happen to break the weeks/months or stagnation that's taken over this club.

This isn't helping.

You know the Habs are pretty boring lately when we have a 5 pages thread about a swap of two bottom-six career AHLers.

I better not see anybody ***** about this trade.

This is as minor as it gets, and doubt this will have any impact on either NHL club.

Here's how this trade probably went down.. Bergy called the Kings asking if they had any interest in Markov and Lombardi said yes he does. Bergy then proceeds to ask for Toffoli + 1st round pick to which Lombardi says he can't do that trade.. Before hanging up Lombardi tells Bergy I'll trade you Robert Czarnik for Steve Quailer though so the guys on the Habs board @ HF will have something to talk about.

Hopefully he won't steal icetime from actual prospects.

Our future just got 4" shorter.
Surprised it took four pages for this to be mentioned! With Weise recently arriving, MB had to restore the organizational height inferiority level

On the bright side we effectively moved up from 86th to 63rd in the third round of the 2008 draft

You make some good points, MB is a conservative to say the least...makes more of his moves in the offseason, and even then, not alot of substance...yet.

To be fair that draft wasn't really great, Dale Weise would have been a 2nd rounder

It's classy to give guys a chance in another system before you let them go / don't qualify their ELCs.

All the pieces to a puzzle matter, regardless of significance. They obviously see something they like....

Too bad Quailer got that knee injury in his sophmore season, he was an interesting pick... Nice combination of size and skill. He didn't look out too bad in the AHL and showed glimpses of maybe being a defensive forward in the NHL but we don't need that in our line-up. Good luck to him.
Yes Quailer never regained the explosiveness after his injury, too bad he had promise, wish him the best for his future.

The Habs gain center depth in Czarnik, his last season in the OHL with Plymouth he scored 77pts in 61 games, 33g + 44ast tied for leading Whaler scorer. He also played for the USNTDP and the Michigan Wolverines, always a good sign having Berenson as his coach. RHC's are in demand and depth at center was always a trademark of Habs teams in the past, it's all good for the Bulldogs IMO.
