I'm gonna do my best to post and update it every day around 2-3 once the live events are all completed for the day over in Russia. Since I wanted to know when all the stuff I was interested in was, it was easy to share the same info around here. I'll also post medal winners and keep that tally so it goes without saying this thread won't be spoiler free lol

Yeah there is not much hitting and the game feels slower but I am enjoying US vs Finland so far. That Hillary Night looks like a star. I thought the star player was Kessel.

USA comes away with the first Gold Medal of the games!

Sage Kotsenburg wins Gold in Snowboarding for Men's Slopestyle. Norway wins Silver, Canada gets Bronze.

Medal Count
CountryGoldSilverBronzeTotal

USA1001
Sweden0101
Canada0011

+ the Women's Hockey Team beats Finland 3-1 (shots 43-15 ). Good start for the US

+ Norway wins both Gold and Bronze in Women's Skiathlon. Sweden wins the Silver.

The women's hockey team looked great. Very fast, good hands and put up 3 goals against possibly the best womens goalie in the world.

I thoroughly enjoyed SWE vs JPN, but it makes you appreciate players like Brad Stuart - talk about bad defensive play.

Snowboarders told they can't honor the memory of the late Sarah Burke at Sochi. Apparently putting a sticker referring to a friend on your gear constitutes "commercial, propoganda, or political statements" and is banned under IOC rules (Keep in mind that this is an IOC decision and is not tied to all the other stuff that Russia itself has taken flak over)

Remember kids, plastering your gear in Nike swooshes is totally cool, but paying tribute to someone you lost is against the spirit of the Olympics.

Yeah, i read that today. It is unbelievable. Like someone said in the comments of the article i read, if that was a gay rights sign they would be cheered as hero's by the ioc.

Some of the stuff that is allowed and dissalowed at these games are just mind boggling. One of the canadian bobsledding teams webpage has been banned in russia also for breaking some law. Why? Most likely because it has a picture of 4 half naked guys together (all wearing there underwear).

The bobsledder's site is apparently because the server it's hosted on also has other sites that are restricted by the Russian government, and his site was just caught along with the rest. Whether or not I believe it is a discussion for another board, stopping the snowboarders from paying tribute to Burke is just ridiculous.

Man that was a slaughter. But I swear one of the girls on the Swiss team got concussed and they let her right back in the game.

Phil is a pretty normal guy...try having cameras' and mics in your face every day and see if you don't come off as "awkward"

Disappointed in Mancuso's run. America is not having a good olympics. What events coming up are the best chances to medal? Hockey, Speedskating (Shani Davis), and maybe Figure Skating?

Gracie Gold could get silver in Women's Figure Skating. No one is beating that little 15 year old russian girl for gold... she's crazy amazing. Should get Gold or at the very worst silver in Figure Skating Ice Dance. Kelly Clark is one of the favorites for Women's Halfpipe, US could end up with two medalists in that event. We've got the defending gold medalists in the 4-man bobsled...

Isn't Hannah Teter in the halfpipe too? She was good in Vancouver, right? I'm just surprised in some of the events where the US have succeeded in the past, they haven't done very well here, like Skiing or Snowboarding.

Huh? They've won 2 of the possible 3 golds so far in snowboarding events. Just cause Shaun White bombed... we still own that sport lol

Teter is in there, and Arielle Gold is a contender too. Could sweep if we're lucky

My Mistake. You're right, they did sweep the slopestyle events.
