Mikko wasn't there to keep him under control like a good father would.

We agree: I just used the smiley but the text wasn't a sarcasm.

^Thanks for the laugh had a great tournament but occasionly it felt he was trying to force some passes on the powerplay.

edit: but to add, when he managed to force it it was goal/goal scoring chance. I/E 5on3 against Sweden.

I really hope Yeo was watching the Olympics. I want to see Granlund getting way more possession time on our PP. Hell we should be running the thing through him instead of Mikko. He is very creative player.

I don't think we will see another giant step out of Granlund in terms of speed and power like we did last summer. There's diminishing marginal returns and genetic limits at play. Clearly he was not physically ready for the NHL and he did an amazing job bringing himself up to speed. But once you've gone through all those workouts and added the muscle and strength, it's really hard to add any more. Body builders might only put on 5-10 pounds of muscle per year without steroids, and Granlund isn't going to be spending a full year lifting weights.

Instead I think we see improvements in his reading plays at NHL speed and maybe getting more confidence to shoot the puck. I hope to see him continue to improve at faceoffs as well. These are the mental adjustments that he can keep making.

He should improve his release. He already has a good wrister, but it takes too long for him to shoot it.

We can only hope he isn't that stupid to split that line up.

i'd be willing to bet Parise's points per game don't change very much wherever he's played as long as his minutes remain about the same.

Well, I like Parise with Granlund and Pominville more than Nino and much more than Heatley. I wouldn't mind Parise with Koivu as a "shutdown" matchup type line IF they stacked the third line with scoring types like Zucker and Haula.

Ideally:

Parise - Granlund - Pominville
Nino - Koivu - Coyle/Heatley
Cooke - Brodziak - Fontaine
Zucker - Haula - Mitchell/Coyle/Heatley

Second choice:

Nino - Granlund - Pominville
Parise - Koivu - Coyle/Heatley
Zucker - Haula - Fontaine/Coyle
Cooke - Brodziak - Mitchell/Heatley/Coyle

Mike Yeo hates us:

Parise - Koivu - Pominville
Heatley - Granlund - Coyle
Cooke - Brodziak - Nino
Rupp - Haula - Mitchell

Nino Granlund Pominville is a very good line. If Yeo want to reunite Parise with Koivu, I'd be fine with it if he put the aforementioned line back together, along with Zucker Doyle Heatley.

I really like that first choice Jarick. But Mike Yeo does hate us...so we will see.

I wouldn't mind Granlund playing with Pommer and Nino as long as he would get 1st pp minutes and it's him who runs it. It was a pretty good line

But Mikael is superior on the pp compared to Mikko. Use him.
