I wonder what they are looking for.

Edit: Gagner for Wilson would be a very nice move for the Oilers, imo.
Does Wilson punch faces?

I wouldn't mind a deal around Gagner for Wilson, he's got size and maybe a change of scenery will help him. He was pretty decent last season in the short amount of games he played.

I wasn't aware he was That soft, I know he's not a super gritty player, but I thought just being in Nashville and playing their game would have him be grittier then that.

He still uses his size, leans on defenders protects the puck well.

Thats a trade that really does nothing for us. Wilson for Gagner is magic beans for us -- we'd be hoping that Wilson's offensive game grows. And Ellis does absolutely nothing for our D. He barely plays 14 minutes a night and a chunk of that is PP time and no PK time. No thanks.

Wilson and Ekholm for Gagner might intrigue me more.

Wilson isn't the type of player the Oilers need.

He's another guy who contributes nothing outside the scoresheet and doesn't hit that scoresheet all that often.

I think Gagner is the better player but Wilson is the type of player we need that has more size. The games I saw him play against EDM he was fantastic. Would be nice if he developed into the 2C we need without giving up Yak or Eberle.

I am really curious what Gagner's return will be?

I think Gagner for Wilson would be a pretty good swap. They need more offence upfront, we need more of a stronger center, both players would maybe benefit from playing in a different system.

Wilson at 6'1.5 and well over 210 pounds wouldn't be a bad fit here at all.

Maybe Wilson needs a change of scenery, much like Gagner does.

Wilson doesn't play center for Nash, and he doesn't really use his size that well.

He is 216lbs, do you think he could be an effective 2C for us. Would be nice to get a 2C with size and not moving Eberle or Yak. I know Gagner has more size but Wilson must be pretty good with the two way game. He would have to be better on the face off hopefully he could get better at that.

I would be ok with this deal

Nashville needs a bit more offensive scoring, and Gagner is an offensively talented player. I don't see why they wouldn't do this deal.

Besides, Nashville is pretty solid defensively which would help mask his defensive deficiencies.

Why do the Oilers do it though?

Wilson lacks in every category Gagner does except size.

Does a less talented Gagner who protects the puck better make the team any better?

Really hope nothing gets done with the Kings. Prospects and 4th liners don't do us any good.

Gagner is better than Wilson, I wouldn't make that swap.

2013-14 Edmonton Oilers [A] NHL 47 6 18 24 31 -20

2013-14 Nashville Predators NHL 58 7 17 24 12 1 |

Why do you think Gagner is the better player? Not to mention Gagner is only 2.5 million dollars more expensive... And only is -22points more. If am nashville i would never give up a solid player for a smurf midget who has stints... once every year.

What does people like in Gagner anyway? He isnt good in the faceoff circle.. He dont have size.. He isnt even remotly good defensivly.. He doesnt hit... He puts up points once every new moon.

Well Gagner might not be that good in the circle, but Wilson isn't a center. So Gagner is more valuable in that sense. He has also outscored Wilson every season previously, and is tied this season with less games played; so....

Gagner use to always hit and even drop the gloves once in a while, you break your jaw and see how quickly you want to hit someone. Plus he is up over 45% on the dot now, he is improving, slowly but improving.

He seems like more of a two way forward than a gritty player or a scorer. Kind of like a young Horcoff.

Those players often do not look good on stat sheets but they do all the little things that help teams win.
