Anyone got a reasoning behind the Flames protecting Trefilov instead of McLennan? Other than that nothing too surprising.
Obviously they would like to upgrade McLennan. You don't expose him unless you want him taken. The question is, if he isn't taken, do they buy him out? Do we claim one of the other goalies available? There are a few intriguing names.
Yes Trefilov was a surprise for sure. No question now that McLennan's days as a Flame are numbered. Could it be that Krahn becomes the back-up; or that the Flames are planning to pick up another goalie??
