Sven Andrighetto

What are your thoughts on Andrighetto?

20years old
5'10''
181LBS

The kid was dominating in the QMJHL being well above PPG and so far he has 25pts in 35games with the bulldogs in his first AHL season.

I'm surprised he's not really being discussed when i see posts listing upcoming prospects.

Do you think he would benefit from a few games in the NHL this season? A short 2 game stint or something. Give him something to focus on and work on and off the ice.

I've watched quite a few Bulldog games this season and he's not a physical player at all, but he does have a good frame. He reminds me of Chris Kelly in terms of size and he definitely has the scoring touch.

He has 2goals tonight after 2 periods.

Thoughts?

No don't bring him up. He's gaining confidence and getting used to the AHL pace. Let him stay there and help carry the team to the playoffs.

I love his skillset. He has a bit of everything. He's a bit short, but he's heavy and seems to have great lower body strength which is what u need to be successful at that size. Very promising, but he needs to keep playing in Hamilton at least for this season.

exactly, he looks very solid on his skates for a smaller player

considering that Tinordi is a 6'7 D-man, his rush was way more impressive, that doesn't take anything away from Andrighetto's though.

Seriously, it's nice seeing use his mobility to create offense for once. Not as nice as Andrighetto's goal though. I'm eager to see what he can do with us within the next two years.

He's still a bit slow to read and react. If you saw the game today, you would have seen him follow a guy without a stick up the boards to lay the body on him, despite being "engaged" by the Hamilton winger already. No attempt to play the puck or prevent it from being dumped in deep, and the guy was actually able to easily kick the puck past Tinordi down low along the boards. Now, after committing his body to that play (unnecessary when a guy has no stick and is already covered by a teammate), it took him forever to head back toward the net to help out, identify the guy in front in time, and that guy ultimately scored from a scramble in front of the net that a) shouldn't even have developed, and b) Tinordi had time to get back and disrupt but didn't get a read on quickly enough.

He has improved his skating a LOT in the past year, though, which is obviously a really good thing. The "slow" thing is less from the waist down these days, and more from the neck up.

That's just a terrible goal to give. The whole unit, even the goaltender, should be ashamed.

Anyway, Tinordi has always been a good skater for a guy his size.

Tinordi starting to tap into that offensive potential. I really think he's a stud in waiting.

Give him another offseason to add 8 pounds and get up to 235lbs, and he's gonna be an absolute beast. He's going to be a true #2 IMO.
