Pick Canada's Defensemen for 2006 Olympics.

This is thread designed to pick Canada's defensemen for the 2006 Olympics.

Let's first assume that Pronger, Blake, and Niedermayer are pretty much set in stone.

Who do you expect to fill the rest of the 4 defenseman spots?

If you choose, "Other", then please specify your choice.

Pick 4 defensemen.

I picked Redden, Jovanovski, Regehr and Bouwmeester.

Remember this is big ice. Bouwmeester has to be on this team. The way he even skated in the '04 World Cup was amazing. Imagine him on the larger ice surface. To me he's the best skater since Paul Coffey. But people put Adam Foote all 34 years old of him ahead of J-Bo?

No way. Look at this defence. Pronger, Blake, Niedermayer, Redden, Jovanovski, Regehr, Bouwmeester. There's no room for Foote. Or Brewer. J-Bo's a better skater, is faster, younger. Regehr is just as responsible and tough as Foote. That defence has 7 very good all around defensemen. Foote has done well for Canada but there isnt any room for him anymore IMO

Foote and Redden are locks for me and after that it's wide open. I'd pick Bouwmeester and Philips.

This was a tough one.

Redden
Bouwmeester
Regehr
Stuart

Brad Stuart must be a personal selection, it was tough leaving out Adam Foote, Scott Hannan, and Adrian Aucoin. That's the problem being Canada, a problem that Austria would love to have.

Foote and Redden I think are locks. For the other two I picked Hannan and Bouwmeester, though Jovanovski and Regehr would both be good choices too.
