I like the Flyers and I have watched alot of thier games. Trust me when I say he is not soft, not one bit. He is an Adam Mair with goal scoring ability.

I don't think it's safe to assume that. To us fans, it makes sense, but that reflects little on management's strategy. Those players are cheap, represent the Peca return, and may be considered part of the youth corps that Regier continues to harp on. I really have no idea who's being shopped at this point.

They have a need in my opinion to upgrade in goal, at centre (Peca's their default #1), and in checking line guys. Buffalo is swimming in forwards and goaltenders and #6/7 defense types.... It makes sense that they might have to give up something to get something, but either of Staios or Smith could be used to shore up those other areas.
While Smith would be great, he is the unrivaled leader in that locker room. Although who knows how it will pan out with Pronger in the fold.

Brendan Witt, while going on the record saying he wants to play for a contender, could be had, and would form a terrifying duo if paired with Jay Mckee.

Kalinin-Numminen
McKee-Witt

How old it Staios?

Tottaly agree Zeus is anything but soft, an absolute monster one on one.

Paired with Vanek, they would be really tough to play against.

Since we have Numminen, if we also got Timonen, I would have to insist that we also got Nurminen.

And if that came to pass I'd have to insist we trade for Neiminan as well.

Ta,
Put them all on the ice at the same time then RJ might actually be to slow on the call for once.

I personally want no part in Witt for a variety of reasons. Someone is likely to fork over something useful to the Caps but for a full-season rental, I'm not all that keen.

As for Staios, he's now 32.
