Is it just me or apparences suggests that the Avs need a PP quaterback ??

I know that this has been all over the place, the Habs and Avs having constant chats since the beginning of the year, but would Markov be a good fit for the Colorado team ??

Let's say a trade based around:

Markov vs Stastny

Two futur UFAs...

McGinn + for Phillips or Phillips + for Parenteau

I think Markov would be a good fit, but Roy already said Stastny isn't going anywhere.

We do need a PP quarterback. Preferably one that can play top minutes. Obviously those don't grow on trees and cost a lot to acquire. I think we will see the Avs try and add a top 4, defensive guy and continue to use forwards to run the PP.

Stastny isn't moving. The Avs could use a PP QB, but that isn't even close to the biggest need with the defense. Barrie does an alright job in the PP QB and is just starting to grow into it. If the Avs could get a 2 way guy that could be a decent PP QB for the 2nd unit, that would be good enough.

Markov would be a great get as he is good enough defensively that he would allow Hejda to move back with Barrie.

No its not.

Avs have no interest in futures and a severely overpaid 3rd liner.

Leddy is not that great a player, a #4 Dman now who at this point is a stretch to develop into a #2/3.

Pirri is a good prospect sure, but he's not worth it for the Avs to move Stastny, who has arguably been the Avs #2 forward this season for us.

Not a good offer, Stas is also not available. The Avs are a safe bet to make playoffs and wont be selling off our elite #2C.

I like the premise of the OP, what can we get for expendable assets rather than every fanbase telling us which stars need to be on the move to get anyone decent. Hopefully a few more useful suggestions turn up.

The Avs need D that can play D. No rentals or anyone significantly older than our core. We don't expect a superstar in return but someone that can be a solution long term. Maybe someone young with upside or someone older who has term on their contract.

McGinn is not a third liner. He's not really on the table either. PA is the forward that does not really fit Roy's system.

Definitely sold. I'd even throw Elliott into the deal if needed.

ROR is most likely not being traded.

You can sign him long term once you get him. Problem solved. Good deal for both clubs.

This says Ehrhoff but Colorado fans do not want to give up what it is going to take

And if he doesn't resign?

Like someone else said...ROR is probably not going to be traded.

As long as it doesn't involve a core player, the Avs would be game. If it involves a core player they would look elsewhere. That core is Landy, Duchene, ROR, MacKinnon, Stastny, EJ, and Varly... everything else would be up for debate and there are some solid young pieces, some decent vets, and 1st round draft picks in play.

If only.

Would love this for the Avs. It may kinda fit needs for NJ but the value doesn't match.

That's almost what it would take for one, let alone both Greene and Larsson. Maybe more, depending on just how highly the Devils value Larsson.

For Greene it might be worth it for the Avs.

I just feel like the same Dman are always floated around on here.

No thanks to Amac, this edler crap needs to die, kulikov was turned down earlier this year by the avs, Markov isn't what we need, ect ect.

I was hoping there would be weird names coming out of this. Sigh
