CBJ interested in Yakupov

a grain of salt, but would fit all of the CBJ needs on the surface. Young, beyond this year, impact player, huge upside offensively. I would not be opposed to it (i don't care about Russian thing, btw we have 3+ on the NHL roster) not sure what CBJ would have to give up? young D not named Murrary, 1st rd, Atkinson? CBJ are going to have to give to get so lay off the Umberger (salary dump) and our slobs for one of there top guys. Fire away.

On Yakupov....

There is a certain irony to this rumor, but I am told the Blue Jackets have interest in Nail...Montreal and the Rangers as well.

Too bad it's Eklund [mod] because a Murray for Yakupov trade would be legendary lol.

I'm sure it's as likely to happen as Ovechkin to Nashville is.

I get the feeling Oilers would want back Johansen.

I'm just a big believer in where there is smoke....you know the rest even if not Nail could be one of the big 4. CBJ have a crazy amount of chips to bargain with afar 3 FRP last year we are not in a rush, plus with the youngest team in the league were not winning a SC tomorrow.

I would propose for starters:

CBJ give
2014 1st
JJ

EO give
NY

Don't think Oilers have any interest in Atkinson, or picks. Would have to be a package centered around Dubinsky or Anisimov IMO. Personally, would rather trade other players before Yak. Him, RNH and Hall have the making of a unreal top line for a long time.

Eklund is probably just being Eklund.

Me personally, I'd love to get Yakupov because his skill is readily apparent and I think he could wind up being similar to Patrick Kane in production. Columbus would certainly have to give to get, though, so I'd want to be sure Yakupov isn't a flight risk and doesn't have character issues that mean we'd lose him in a year or two.

Also, Johansen, Murray, and Bobrovsky are non-starters IMO. Not based on value, per say, but just that they aren't pieces Columbus can move. I don't think Yakupov is a piece Edmonton should move, but this thread is made under the assumption that he's a player that's available.

I don't think Atkinson would be all that great for Edmonton. They don't need more speedy, skilled but undersized wingers. Calvert would be a better fit as he's speedy and skilled but plays a bigger game (can play physically, strong on the puck, goes to the dirty areas). That said, why would they want him either?

Something around Tyutin or Nikitin (with a significant plus) to play with Belov might make more sense but then again, as I said, trading Yakupov doesn't make much sense to begin with.

More credible than 99.9999999999999999 of the members on this forum. On the other side of that coin, probably needs money

Murray is poised as ****.

Yeah, he wasn't the consensus top pick but really should have been taken.

If people in EDM are expecting Murray +, lol. Even in a one for one, that's a no no.

That would basically be Edmonton admitting they got that pick wrong.

Highly doubts Edmonton wants JJ. Been there. Done that. See Cam Barker for another example of a D-man with tools and no toolbox.

heh, I'll believe it when I see it (especially given the source), but that would be all kinds of amazing if it actually happened.

Are you arguing the statement or that I made it? He pretty easily is more credible than the people here. He pretty easily is more credible than most people not here when it comes to rumors. His credibility comes into question when compared to others more credible. Are you arguing the statement's merit or just not happy it was made. It answered a question.

Pretty decent trading partners, IMO. Edmonton can probably get back a nice package of good solid blue collar citizens for now and or the future. If I were the Oilers, I'd be looking to get back some combination involving three of Wennberg, Jenner, Rychel, Dubinsky, Foligno for Yakupov and maybe some other lesser pieces.

Remember, Quebec had to deal some of their better skill for grit and defense to get anywhere.

Corey Tropp would look good in Edmonton, he should be thrown into the deal. He has a solid work ethic and plays with toughness.
