I'd be very suprised if there is even one offer. These guys have spent years trying to get fiscal control and one of them is going to pull a move like this. Sure, Glen Sather will do that to his admitted best friend Harry Sinden. For what? he offers Joe $7.8 and the Bruins were going to offer around $6.8? It's nothing more than beng an ahole. There are always going to be available UFAS and Sather for instance will go with kids and turn his attention to whoever Ottawa can't fit in next years lifeboat. I see zilch chances of this happening. Wally, close this thread.
Should we be defending glen since he is the Ranger's GM or should we just turn our cheeks?
I hate Joe Thornton. Hes not a future ranger in my eyes. I dont want him anyway. The guy has 6 goals in 35 playoff games. Some leader. He'll have to prove a lot more than that to me if i want him on my team.
the Rangers aren't going to spend in payroll $20 million more than the Bruins - perhaps not even a dollar more. If Sather has space for Thornton and a price the Bruins cannot afford, then all the more power to the Rangers.
