It's important to tell the fans and the rest of the hockey media exactly what you're looking for as a GM. That way other GM's will give the best deal on a 26-28 year old of your choice. Come onnnnnnnnnnn...

I don't know about you, but I certainly don't want the GM of my team to be completely transparent.

Are all teams who's centres I'd take over TOR. Admittedly some are debatable. I'd suggest TOR is more middle of the pack than top 5.
Just to let you know that Abdelkaders not a center, He's forward on the top line with Nyquist and Zetterberg and It's Sheahan.

It's sad that Ottawa is Toronto's divisional rival, in another world where they weren't Kadri would be an enticing piece in a Spezza deal.

As a Blues fan i would love to have Kadri as or number 2 center, Toronto would be stupid to trade him unless getting back an extremly good player in return. What would it take for the blues to get him?

Realistically... a centre better than him.

What would it take for the Leafs to get Backes or Oshie?

Is this enough to land a TLC? I think the Leafs feel like they are turning a corner now. Kadri/Gardiner will help a few teams down the road. What C could Toronto land now (with those pieces)?
"The Fourth Period" is not a reputable source for rumours.

Why would the Leafs trade Kadri for Speeza? Even if he is marginally better now, he is also much older.

There is no Spezza deal

Though it may make sense long term, Spezza isnt getting traded. After losing Alfie last year there's simply no way we're losing another captain.

The price would be something the Blues would not want to pay. I like the Blues and their fans on this site so I will not mention what that price will be. Kadri is our future at center, we have nothing to look forward to if we trade him.

This is my point as well. If we trade Kadri, all we're going to do is look for his replacement. He fits where he's at, he's a very good 2nd line center for us right now at his age. Can he eventually become a #1 C down the road who knows..all I know is he's a stud, he's only 23 years old and if we move him the guy coming back would probably be just as good as he is..so again I ask what would be the point? Plus the guy coming back would be older and probably more expensive. Kadri isn't going anywhere.

Maybe you should take the time to explain to me how rumours can be "reputable", and in what world rumours are 100% accurate.

The Mods instruct pretty clearly: "Rumors must contain the word RUMOR in post title." Maybe they should provide an updated definition for people here.

Kadri is always intriguing. Some think he's a star of the future and a 1C and others think he's reached his ceiling: A 2nd line C / sheltered 3rd in certain situations. Like others have mentioned in this thread, what to pay him on his next contract is a question too.

I see his ceiling as being 2C, but other teams might pay handsomely who think he could be a 1C.

He's an RFA and has no way to be paid handsomely unless there is some ROR situation.

I would absolutely love to get Ryan Kesler, but his hard banging style worries me, especially as he gets older. He'd be the absolute ideal 2nd line center that is a #1 PKer. The price would be worth it if was centered around Kadri + Gardiner, but his injury history is what scares me away.

Kadri is here to stay. He's showing 1st line center upside, even though he's not there yet.

Gardiner I would be open to trading him for a RHD of similar caliber. Personally, I've downgraded Gardiner's potential slightly, I see him as an excellent 2nd pairing guy but no longer see him as a potential 1st pairing. Don't mind hanging on to him either, his skating makes him very valuable to us.

SJ won't do it.

Pavs is way too valuable to them. Especially when they want to make a Cup run.

Koivu for Kadri & Gardiner? I'd do that in a heart beat.
