Bertuzzi for Hadzus ????--Proposal

Would this and could this be done ? Maybe the Tuzz could renegotiate his contract and maybe the Fkyers could throw in Brashear. I think this could help both teams. The Nucks get rid of a problem that will follow him all year and they get a very good defensive center. Also the Flyers would get that big scoring winger.

Personally I wouldn't do that. To me Bertuzzi would be worth a few Handzuses.

No.

Just. No.

We don't want Brashears contract, or even Brashear alone, We've had enough of him in Van City.

And why would we want Handzus? Bert is Reinstatted, and he wants to play for the Canucks. Handzus can't replace Bertuzzi's gap on the team, and neither can AWOL Brashear.

From a Canucks fan standpoint, I would give this a big no way.

Philly better be throwing in a few first rounders/high level young talent in that pot. I loathe Bertuzzi and all, but he is on a different level then Handzus.

Its not going to happen unless Bertuzzi really wants to go or the Nucks really just want to dump him ASAP.

Throw in 2 1sts and the 'nucks would think about it for 2 seconds before rejecting. Plus: A team that surrendered a 3rd to ship out a top player for a bag of pucks in return would be thrilled to buy into Bertuzzis contract. The resulting trades to get back under the cap would yield them the security of never having to buy any pucks again in franchise history (plus it would cost them each single draft pick until 2010)

I hope this is a joke. This would make no sense for the Nucks and Philly cant even afford half of Burts salary. Not to mention burtuzzi>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>handzus

Handzus is in no way on Bertuzzi's level.

Canucks already got rid of Brashear once and wouldn't take him for free. Bertuzzi is a 40-50 goal scorer that is to the NHL what Lindros was in his prime; mean, strong, a good skater and a sniper. He is arguably one of the 5 most dominating players in the game right now and is only making 5 million. Getting rid of the clutching and grabbing will only make him even harder to handle. Handzus is a good player but is more of a second line center that is close to Bertuzzi's size but is now where close to him in talent.

In answer to your question, a big, resounding NO!!! The only way the Canucks trade Bert is if he asks to be traded and doesn't want to re-sign for next year. Then and only then would the Canucks trade him and they would still ask for more then Handzus. I would probably ask for a package of Kim Johnsson and Mike Richards for starters.

Besides the fact that Donald is not wanted by Van City in my opinion and Handzus is no where near the quality of player that Bertuzzi is I would say no. On top of that is it not a big No No to restructure contracts now? If Philly wanted Bertuzzi I would say it would have to be something like Esche, Carter and Gagne in order to make the Canucks even consider. I did hear however that the Leafs are talking with Vancouver about Bertz and they offered Aki Berg and Wade Belak for him.

Yeah, you'd better have Philadelphia including Richards, Carter, or Pitkanen, and come up with some kind of rationle as to why the Nucks would even consider moving him. Vancouver doesn't need to free up money, they're not particularly deep on the right side, and oh yeah, the Moore situation aside, he's still a dominant player.

For what it's worth, the notion that Handzus is somehow useless is poppycock. The juxtaposition of he and Bert is an unfair comparison, but Zeus is far from useless.

Do you think Philli would allow the Canucks to dump off a few draft choices in the deal too (say the Canuck's 1st round picks for the next ten years) & even maybe be allowed to pay most of Bertuzzi's salary?

This deal SHOULD look like this:

To PHI:
Todd Bertuzzi
$3 million of hypothetical cap space

To VAN:
Michal Handzus
Donald Brashear
1st round pick 2006
2nd round pick 2006

Vancouver would never do this, and Philadelphia cannot do this.

I don't want Handzus or Brashear. I'd love to see Gagne w/ the Canucks somehow thoguh. I don't think Bertuzzi wants to be traded anymore anyways now that Naslund is back.

As an Oiler supporter I wholeheartedly endorse this proposal, even though some here wanted Handzus...

...mainly because we would only have to play against Toozi once every couple of years that way. Personally I cannot begin to fathom how you could consider trading away someone who can dominate a game like Bert.
