10 more cuts made

The Blackhawks did their third round of cuts on Monday as ten players were sent down to Norfolk. Goaltender Steve Passmore , defensemen Burke Henry, Marty Wilford, Johnathan Aitken, and Duncan Keith, along with forwards Brandin Cote, Ajay Baines, Quintin Laing, Alexander Kojevnikov, and Shawn Thornton

I'm hoping all these rookies make the squad :

Leighton

Lasse K

Ruutu...a given
Vorobiev
Radulov

I'd love to see Babchuk as well but I believe they'll only have one rookie on D, though hopefully he could be a call up if he doesn't make the squad.

Is there any chance of Steve Passmore ever surfacing as the backup in Chicago again? He seemed to be average up until last year, and given the current lack of experience at backup, it might be a worthwhile time to give him one last shot.

Nope he was horrible last year. He'll be part of the waiver draft. But he was put on waviers last year and no one claimed him. He''l be in Norfolk the whole year if there are no goalie injuries.

Good to hear Ruutu and Vorobiev are doing well. How's Steve McCarthy doing? I not only have him in a keeper's league, but I loved the guy when he played for Canada at the WJC. I know he's on the team, that's a given, but has he shown progression? Is he finally going to step up and take a top 4 role and run with it?

Only 4 cuts left to make. Andersson, Moen, McLean and one of Kukkonen or Babchuk will be cut. Sadly, that leaves Korolev still on the team.
