So I'll be making frequent updates on the prospects and team based on what I see.
Yep, I can't wait, I live about 15 minutes away so I'll probably end up watching a bunch of games there and all the rest on TV.

The Phantoms suck. They need more talent. I'm really advocating the Flyers organization leas Scott Laughton down there for a year. That team needs an influx of young talent.

Morin with an assist tonight (29 points in 51 games).

Laughton scored his 39th goal & had an assist tonight (86 points in 53 games).

Stolarz picked up his 23rd win stopping 19 of 24 tonight (.925SV% in 33 games).

I think so. I get service electric, and they'll be broadcasting all the home games.

Next year I think Leier and Stolarz will be there so that should be cool to watch at least.

Yup same. I think you can only see the games if they're your cable provider, which I don't think you can have in Philly.

Proximity to Philly will help the team. The Phantoms were a force before they had to relocate to Adirondack.

I think that has a lot less to do with location than the fact that we traded away so many picks, then had Schenn and Couturier completely skip that level.

As long as we get back to drafting in the consistent manner we have in the last couple years, we'll see the Phantoms improve.

Nice numbers overall, but was that game as bad as the numbers seem to indicate for Stolarz?

The final was 10-5 so it was one of those games. I watched the highlights, he didn't look too sharp but the team in front of him wasn't doing him favors neither.

I don't see Alt making the team next season. Hagg I would say is a couple years out. The difference in proximity shouldn't have Alt over Hagg on any list unless it's proximity to Philadelphia.

Valeri Vasilev could potentially be coming to NA next season. If so I would imagine he goes to the Phantoms. Who knows, Laughton might even be in the AHL or Ghost. Another year in development for Straka, Cousins and such they could be a decent team.

Well that sucks, for me at least. Hopefully it means there will be more/better quality streams online at least.

Trading a lot of draft picks, especially 2nd and 3rd rounders who need extra develop, does play a part in the Phantoms but don't underestimate location either. Most of the really good AHL teams have top notch AHL only talent. Allentown is a lot more attractive of a place to play for these players than upstate New York. Will the new owners shell out the money for these players is unknown but I hope so with a Hershey rivalry, and WB, there for great marketing potential. Also signing foreign players, and ncaa free agents, could be easier. Getting someone to play in upstate New York over Toronto or even Norfolk is a tough sell. Little things like location of the AHL team is enough to swing a decision when the money is the same. Allentown is no metropolis but is way bigger than the current location and is close to NYC and philly.

That top 10 comes directly from the team. I don't think it is just a talent evaluation because the Flyers always have some head scratchers. Just like hyping Testwuide the same as JVR the one training camp, I think the Flyers like to use to press to diffuse hype, motivate, take attention away, and what not with their prospects. Just a theory.

Replay of the Oshawa game on NHL Network. Laughton missed a penalty shot.

His first goal was a beauty.

That was one of the worst fights I've ever seen.

He high sticked a puck while playing the point on the PP and acted like he was going to play the puck dead, and the guy on Kingston poked it the other way for a breakaway that resulted in a goal.

Was Hagg suspended for two games, thought it was usually one? As if not Hagg was dropped from the team for the last game of the season.

The coach put Albin Carlsson in who played... 0:00.

Their insistence of played Loov and Lehtivuori (and even Torp) over him for half the year probably cost them a few places in the standings tbh. The first two in my mind are just clearly not as good.

50 games played in the SHL as an 18-19 year old D man is a pretty rare feat though, and that is what Hagg did this year.

Not sure if Anders Forsberg just does not like him...

If he is not guaranteed a top 4 job next year it would be best if he signed for another SHL team, he showed this year he could play 18-20 mins a night and look good, and on several teams he would likely be in the top 4. And I am saying that with Modo as my favourite Swedish team.

If I recall, the early Phantoms were basically stacked with AHL vets. The early 2000s had some ok folks, but we were still basically paying out our nose for NHL talent. The 04-05 championship team was amazing timing, along with the fact they had some NHL vets.

The post-lockout years were not good because of drafting, but I cannot help but think that the move (RIP Spectrum) was also not helpful.

Morin had an assist tonight. That makes it now 30 points in 52 games.

Looks like it was the only assist for the game-winner in OT.
