I really wish that USA and Canada were not playing at the same time... The time slots for these games have been awful.

What the hell does it matter if Phil Kessel off-ice persona is as interesting as the U.S. tax code, he's one of the most exciting players to watch on the ice. It's nice when players show us a little personality during interviews, but they certainly don't have to. Kessel has always been a bit aloof and shy. They can't all be Jeremy Roenick.

If that Kessel bores you to tears you should go take a look at his sister.

Supposedly the reason why is because they keep sticking USA in the small arena because Russia and Canada need the big arena.

Yup, say what you will about Kessel he's one of the most dynamic offensive players in the league right now. But somehow I find a way to disagree with pretty much everything Seph says so it's all good

Slovenia and Austria should be a good matchup, same with Czechs and Slovakia. Russia and Suisse will dominate their qualification games.

Thank God for that. I'd rather have 10 Kessels than 10 JR's.

RE; the whole cameo jersey thing... I honestly don't see why the tweet is such a big deal.

It was kind of an asinine thing to do that flew in the face of what Oshie was trying to say. In fact some who didn't know what the original quote was might take it the wrong way. That's why it was a dumb thing to do. They could've at least put it in context. I don't think the poor intern should get fired, if that's what indeed happened, but it was in very poor taste.

I just thought it was a tongue in cheek joke about camouflage and saw nothing wrong with it.

I think its worse to make assumptions that all service men are heroes.

Seen a lot of talk about missing games, and NBC complaints. You guys know you can watch the games online right? Doesn't even have to be when it's being broadcasted either, they have links for replays up. When it's being broadcast, you can come in late, and just back up to where ever you want.

Quality is pretty good too. You just have to enter your cable provider log in.

There was a better way to present it, especially since it misconstrues his initial statement. Obviously they thought better of it since they took the post down.

I don't think Oshie has to qualify what he said. We all know there are bad soldiers out there, just like there are bad cops. Doesn't mean we shouldn't think highly of those who choose to enlist.

Oh I know and thats how I have watched most of the games. They just always end up saying the score of the other game so it kinda ruins the replay value.

Meh, I will save my political opinions as this isn't the place for it. Manifestly it is a hockey game.

What do you mean by this? Just wondering. (I don't understand the usage of the word.)

From the Miracle on Ice:
"In a political or nationalistic sense,
this game is being viewed with varying perspectives.

But manifestly it is a hockey game."

Basically it just means its a hockey match and not a greater microcosm for Nationalism.

Sweden seemingly has an easy march to the semi-finals.

Which in retrospect is hilarious considering they're the team who deserves it the least out of the top 3 clubs.

Are they doing this to rest Bobrovsky for Finland, as this is pretty much a gimmie or are is their way of telling Varly he's their guy? I think it's the latter.
