Its a good feeling holding that 8th spot. Everything is in our hands win and your in!

If Winnipeg makes it in over us I will seriously die I would probably lock myself in my room with blinders and ear plugs until August.

So both the Canucks and Yotes had a 2-0 lead only to blow it and lose in regulation. Good day for us

I'd rather be lucky than good.

Pekka Rinne will probably play tomorrow vs. Pittsburgh. Where would Preds be now if Rinne had been healthy?
Minnesota, Dallas, and Winnipeg are already playing at the top of their game. This is a huge boost to a team only 4 points back.

Dallas moves six points ahead of the Preds with tonight's win, in equal games played.

Gotta think Rinne's out to prove his worth after missing a whole whack of hockey, including Sochi.

We're at 57% right now, firmly in the driver's seat for the last wild card spot in the West.

Games in hand on pretty much everyone, but with a whole flock of teams on the Stars' tail.

Looking at the remaining games graph from that link, though, it stands to reason that if they can maintain a .500 or better record*, they're as good as in.

Even a record of 11-6-4 gets them 94 points and a 92% chance of making it in.

*By ".500" I mean real .500, more wins than losses. Not the way the NHL seems to think a .500 team should look.

Depends a lot on who we win and lose to as well. Head to head mathch ups with PHX and WPG are going to be huge.

Head to head against Phoenix, Winnipeg and Vancouver is what is going to get us in if we do get in.

So far...2-0 vs Phoenix, 2-0-1 vs Winnipeg, 2-0 vs Vancouver.

Those three also all play each other at least. Also like to point out, we play STL 3 times, we need to steal one if not two there. But, for now one game at a time

Vancouver and Phoenix lock horns tonight.

I wonder if they'll both be pushing for overtime. End it in regulation, one of you!

I'd prefer a Canucks win, to be honest....that combined with a Stars win would push us 5 up on Phoenix, and maintain our lead on Vancouver with games in hand.

I had to chuckle reading this post, and the rest of this thread. Everyone is so concerned with Vancouver and Phoenix.....is everyone seriously sleeping on Winnipeg? I know in the past they haven't been good, but since their coaching change, they have the second best record in the league. Just saying.

Personally I think it's a two horse race between Stars and Jets. Maybe Coyotes. Canucks have way too many issues, and injuries to sustain a push.

I doubt anyone here has written off Winnipeg, actually.

Was merely pointing out two teams below us that are facing each other.

Should've re-read the post before posting yours, as he was pretty clearly talking only about the two teams below us that are taking each other on tonight directly.

I think we can take care of the Jets first hand personally. They'll be a bigger challenge than they were earlier in year, but we still match up extremely extremely well against them.

It's really strange to come to another team's board and act put off when your team isn't given enough credit/mentioned, especially when the post clearly had nothing to do with them.

Sooooo surely there's no way the Canucks continue a run with Eddie Lack...right?

We'll know once we see the return for Kesler.

They've performed so poorly as of late, and my guess is the latest injury to Daniel was the final straw. Gillis is probably pushing hard for a Kesler deal right now.

Kesler has to be gone or Van management is insane.

Great Jets play NYI tonight, and Vanek is a scratch. JT is out, Macdonald is gone. Easy 2 points there

Maybe they burst out a victory like BUF did after the Miller/Ott trade

I don't want to say it, but I'm going to.

We're going to be in real trouble if we don't get six points in our next three games (VAN/MIN/CBJ all at home).
