Seeing other teams salivate over him is making me sad

i guess it depends on if you need offense from your 3rd line?

on the leafs komorov-bolland-clarkson would be a good checking line but i think it would struggle offensively.
I agree, excellent 4th liner who can fill in on the third line. Anything under $1.75 and I'd take him back in a heartbeat

He should be a Sabre, would prob'ly be in the top 6. Lots of cap space as well.

- While we need high end / scoring help in the forward ranks, there should be plenty of roster space at forward to give him minutes

If Buffalo needs to overpay a guy or two to reach the floor I would much rather it be a player like Komarov than a player like Leino.
I was just about to say this, I would love to see him in buffalo.

He has stated he wants to go back to the NHL next season as a free agent. I know many Leafs fans have wished we had resigned Komarov over Clarkson and wish we can get this guy back. However, there has been a big gap in the value fans have been willing to offer. We have had everything from 1.25-3.5 million!

I am interested in knowing which fans think their team would be interested in him and how much they would pay for him. I'd say his best comparison is a shorter, stockier Jarkko Ruutu without the PIMs.
Komarov hits anything, and everything, non stop ...but, he has hands of stone (not for fighting) He is a 4th line energy guy, and a 2nd PK group player ...1-1.5 tops, and only because he hits anything and everything, non stop ...then stands there and stares as the other player start cross checking him in the chest, and never retaliates hoping to draw a penalty.

relentless is a good word to describe him

He recently said he loves Toronto and playing for the Leafs so hopefully he can come back next year. Not the biggest guy but he sets the tone with his physical play.

Donīt make it too complicated guys. My guess is that he will sign with the Leafs for something like 1.65mAAV for 2 years and excel in 3/4th line role.

Think him and Hendricks would make a good pairing. =)

Certainly there is a spot for Leo on the third or fourth line next season. There's going to be some turnover.

he's going to get overpaid somewhere

He is gonna take his talents to Florida on a 2-2.5 million deal. They got cap space so the contract won't be an issue even if they gave him 3 million. Nice compliment to Florida's bottom six and can stunt in the second line or even first to bring some energy for a few shifts here and there.

Valuewise, in Montreal, Travis Moen gets 1,8 mil and Brandon Prust gets 2,5. Komarov is somewhere in that category. There's no way he'll leave KHL if offered below 2 mil.

Bolland is a pretty solid offensive player, with proper minutes could be counted on for 40-50 points. And if Clarkson ups his game he's a 50 point player. But I'd rather throw one of the goons out and put Komarov there.

I think he'd come for anywhere between 1.5-2. Would love him for 1.75 on Montreal, but I'd be more inclined to see them go after Brian Boyle and Steve Ott.

David Clarkson has never scored 50 points in a season, and he has never been on pace for 50 points over 82 games.

If we buy out Booth, I'd give him the same money we're paying Hansen.

If he wants a year, I'd pay high 2's honestly. If he wants a bit of a term, I'd only hang around 2

I think he's at least going to be asking for 2mAAV. Imo he'll be getting offers around the league.

So is Toronto able to resign him before free agency if Moscow releases him? Like would they be able to sign him once the Olympic freeze is lifted?

Washington as a darkhorse team for him with the familiarity of playing with Ovechkin and Backstrom during the lockout

Maybe he'll become a leaf killer much like Moulson, it would even better.

Would definitely fit into Nolan's system. ...would definitely get top 9 icetime and top PK time...I'd pat him 3 million per year for 3 years.. By that time our kids will be grown up and if there is room he is a solid 4th liner
