He could visit Toronto easily, just a short drive from Buffalo

- While we need high end / scoring help in the forward ranks, there should be plenty of roster space at forward to give him minutes

If Buffalo needs to overpay a guy or two to reach the floor I would much rather it be a player like Komarov than a player like Leino.
seems right.
Nolan would love this guy.

want him back in Toronto however. but money and playing time talk.

Solid 4th liner, but anything over 1.5M and you're probably overpaying.

Komarov is powerforward/agitator. He goes hard to the net nad stays there and agitates. Forechecks and backchecks hard and delivers hits. Also isn't slow either. I'd take him in a heartbeat to my teams 3rd line.

+Leadership
+Sandpaper
+Agitating verbally

He is Franzen (lite, dont know how good hands he has).

EDIT: typo, how not who....

Anything under 2m i would take him without any hesitation. Beyond that i'd consider based on what role there would be available.

I don't think he is after the money though, but rather looking for a right team that can atleast give him 3rd line minutes and chance to prove himself.

Dynamo sees this differently as they pay Komarov $2M a year.

That's the problem. As somebody said before, he has hands of stone and no size. Things you have mentioned are great and pros but he has a lot of cons as well, no need to idealize things.

Well, Dynamo has crapload of money, no real salary cap to speak of and very shallow [relatively] high-class player pool to chose from. Zinovyev is getting 4M, Morozov close to 5M, Koshechkin 4.5M and so on in the KHL but it doesn't mean they are worth it by the sane world standards.

The Leafs, an NHL team seen it differently from Dynamo. They offered him around 1 mil.

He's a top-6 player in the KHL, where he produces a lot of offense, while bringing an all around game. He's a 4th liner in the NHL relying on his physicality and defensive play.

Cons obviously are that he will never be top6 forward so I just listed pros for 3rd liner.
-bad hands
-average hockey IQ
-small but he is built like a tank

I feel always safe when he is on the ice for Finland.

I would kill to have this guy on the Pens. He's exactly the sort of bottom 6er that we're in need of. Need that toughness and grinding.

Yeah, in the sane world only guys like Leino and Clarkson make that kind of money.

In perspective, I don't see Dynamo paying Komarov 2M any different from Sens giving it to Chris Neil.

No, everyone in the sane world understands giving that much money for those two was insane.

And sure, Komarov and Neil are a good comparison and indeed very similar but Neil had 700 games of NHL experience when he signed his extension while Komarov has 42. If you think that shouldn't make the difference just ask Brian Burke.
