So, when Vanek is traded..

Bailey-Nelson-Okposo
Lee-Strome-Clutterbuck
Grabner-Cizikas-McDonald
Martin-Sundstrom-Boulton

Until Nielsen returns, I suppose.

I am guessing we might get a roster player back For Vanek, so they might fill that position

I don't get why you'd want Ekblad when Reinhart and Bennett are available.

I'd be extremely cautious about drafting Ekblad at #1, 2 or 3.

His peers will catch up to him.

See Luke Schenn.

22 games left. Hopefully it's a sprain instead of a tear. And honestly, I rather they close him down for the year instead of him working like a dog for 3 weeks to get better, more of a chance for him to get hurt again. Season was over before the Olympics. Trade Vanek and MacDonald before THEY get hurt, and move on.

I trust this regime as much as I trusted the Suddam Hussein regime. I expect them to **** this up royally. But I'm HOPING we get a nice return for Vanek and MacDonald.

Bummed about this. Now I'm even more passionate about the US taking the tourney. Would really be upsetting to see Canada win and JT not play in the final game, especially for his sake.

Hopefully the injury is minor, but if i'm the Isles i'm not rolling the dice. Never been one to welcome tanking but were so far out of a playoff spot it dosen't sound too bad at this point.

We should sit JT as long as necessary even it that means the remainder of the season. Gives others the opportunity to step up and prove themselves. He's been carrying a disproportionate amount of the teams weight and it's time to start experimenting with the lines anyway. If we get another 5 ROW the rest of this season and that means we get to grab a #1 or 2 pick, im all for it.

Id bet JT is done for the season. He had a shot at his first ppg season too.

hope this doesn't effect him long term...

also selfishly I want him to be healthy enough to get 90 pts just to shut up the HF overrated crowd..

He surpassed ppg for this season, even if it's shortened by injury. 59 games/66 points.

Your probably right though that he is done for the season. Which really sucks.

Hate to say this, but I'm glad he's probably not going to be in the Isles lineup. Now we can really see what a sham this team is without him.

I hope the Coliseum is a ghost town for the last few home games we have.

Ekblad and Reinhart could be the Scylla and Charbydis of the East. LD/RD, both 6'4" 220+ and both are adept PMD's with offensive capabilities (more so Ekblad). Its mental ************ to imagine them locking down the ice for 25-30 minutes a night.

However, Reinhart is my top choice. The other forwards Im indifferent on, but Id love to get a brother combo and add another scoring option behind Tavares, Nelson, Okposo, Strome, ect.

Latvia may be able to handle Boulton, however no one can stop Luca Brasi.

Oh man, this really sucks for you guys I really like Tavares and thought he was actually one of the best players for canada, despite the stupid low ice time he was getting
if babcock had just scratched kunitz and put tavares up on the 1st line this never would have happened

best of luck, hope this doesn't ruin your guys' season

So no one knows exactly what Tavares's injury is yet most are predicting he's out for the season? Geez, How about a little more optimism?

According to Hockey Canada President Bob Nicholson, JT has a "serious knee injury." No other info was made available but it sure seems as if he is gone for the season.

Typical Islander "luck."

And now I hate the Olympics, not like this season wasn't over but I wanted JT to continue his awesome season.

One was a rock shoal and the other was a whirlpool - neither of them had much lateral movement on skates.

Don't mess with me on the classics
