However, Reinhart is my top choice. The other forwards Im indifferent on, but Id love to get a brother combo and add another scoring option behind Tavares, Nelson, Okposo, Strome, ect.

If they're have to go without Tavares and are that bad, they may as well get Ekblad or Reinhart while they can.

If you don't give a **** about the team then why would you continue to spend any amount of $ and go ?

Typical Islander "luck."
The word "serious" scares the **** out of me. If he tore his ACL or MCL (or both) we won't be seeing Tavares until sometime next November. Worst possible thing to happen. This season has been cursed, we lose the last person I'd ever wanna see us lose. I hate the Olympics now (haven't really been watching), right now, I hate hockey. Go **** yourselves Hockey Gods !

Well, based on precedence, it can happen. Steve Yzerman and Evgeni Malkin both had major knee surgery early in their careers and came back to be just as productive as prior to their injuries. Hopefully JT can come back just as productive. We all know what an animal he is in the offseason, I believe he would face rehabilitation the same way.

The Hockey Gods are punishing all of you for rooting against USA because of KO's snubbing. This shall be the first of many more unfortunate events to come.

What the hell will be our lineup for the rest of the season ? I'm assuming our lineup will be filled with a bunch of Soundtigers until Nielsen comes back ?

Lee-Strome-Okposo
Bailey-Nelson-Grabner
Halmo-Cizikas-?
Martin-Sundstrom- ?

I guess Boulton gets a lot of 4th line play now. I'm expecting Vanek to only play 2-3 games with the Isles before he gets traded (I hope).

Yeah it is probably most likely a torn acl and/or mcl and an MRI will reveal the extent of the injury tomorrow. He will be back stonger then ever, and hopefully this is a wake up call to everyone in the organization. Your best player gets hurt and now what? We aren't the Tampa Bay Lightening, we won't be able to overcome this. I am sorry to say but this is the worst possible thing that could of happened to this organization. Let's see how this will unfold. I am hoping there is no ligament damage.

Lets hope it's not serious. I hope he comes back healthy with no career threatening lingering effects. Why why why us.

I just got a sick feeling that if it is serious we will suck next year and that traded draft pick just might become McDavid.

I feel really bad for Johnny.

Well, according to Bob McKenzie we may be looking at "multiple ligament damage." Season ending for sure and who knows if any time is missed into next season. The team was hard enough to watch with JT. They will be completely unwatchable now.

Wake me up for any trades and for the customary draft lottery.

Echoing @TSNBobMcKenzie, heard that initial news on Tavares is not good. Could be multiple ligament damage. Exam tomorrow will tell. #Isles

Nah, he will be fine. He's young and in great shape. He will recover fine. Just pissed the nhl decided to play in olympics.

Jesus Christ, career ruiner? We don't even know if he's going to miss two weeks yet.

Figures that we trade depth in Regin and Bouchard and then lose our top 2 centers, right before having to trade our top line LW.

My guess on the lines after Vanek is dealt, if Frans is not yet healthy:

Bailey-Nelson-Okposo
Grabner-Strome-Clutterbuck
Lee-Cizikas-McDonald
Boulton-Sundstrom-Martin

Yeesh...

Aside from the obvious bad break with the injury, it also looked like a textbook case of interference as well. Sucks that a player gets injured on a play that also should have been a penalty.

Hope Bettman and the owners end this stupid NHL participation in the Olympics it is useless and has cost a few teams top players now. Good luck to Johnny hope it isn't too serious.

Really bad news. I will hold off on an analysis until we find out the particulars, but if it is "multiple ligaments" then wow, next season is over before this one is. No Tavares.... I can't even imagine this team without him.
