Where will Jagr go at the deadline?

Where will Jagr go at the deadline?

I do cheer for NJ when Anaheim's not playing, but I personally don't think the Devils will make the playoffs this year.

So, will Jagr find a new home elsewhere near the Trade Deadline just like last year? If so, where do you think he might go? Or do you think he'll stay with the Devils to make a playoff push?

EDIT: I rephrased the question slightly - Jagr hasn't asked to be traded at the Deadline, but the Devils can still do something.

Didn't Jagr say that he doesn't want to be traded this year?

Pretty sure his contract doesn't have a no-trade clause.

Even if Jagr doesn't want to be traded, the Devils might still have a big say in what happens.

Possibly Boston or Pittsburgh Would be my guess.

It will all depend on how the Devils are playing near the deadline, IMO, but if there is one GM in the league I will not attempt to predict it is Lou.

I've seen him buy or play it safe with terrible looking options and I've seen him both buy and sell when everyone thought he'd be a buyer.

Who knows.

Wasn't there a bit of a kerfuffle with the Pens back when he made his return to the NHL?

Wouldn't be surprised if he ended back in Philly to be honest.

You say "ends up" and not "stays".

So you think Lou might pull off a double trade to ship him off and bring him back?

The Devils are 3 points out of the playoffs, why are they dealing him? Has his value really went up from last year?

Lemieux should make a comeback just to play with Jagr again

He stays in NJ or ends up back in Pittsburgh.

He's playing good hockey, and the Devils are a fringe playoff team. They should try to sign him to a 1 year extension instead of dealing him. Even if they are slightly out of the playoffs this year, they've still got a shot next year.

I don't know a lot about the Devils or their prospect pool, but that would be my uneducated inclination. If I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.

I consider the Devils to be in a similar position to the Stars last year - sort of a bubble team that still stood a chance to make the playoffs judging by position at the deadline. The Stars were 3 points out as well.

You could make an argument that Jagr's value has gone up, given that he's producing the same points with even less offensive support.

I might even agree with some people that he could go to the Pens to fill that void on RW and get some veteran presence in. Crosby seems to do his best work with older players anyhow.

I hope we re-sign Jagr to be honest, he's carried this team, I don't even want to think about where we would be without him

I assume PIT would have to be included if you are goin to make that assumption. I would say he woul trade with all three if it meant getting a pick or prospect for an expiring contract, especially with a rival assuming the Devils feel they have zero shot at the post season

Jagr has said this season that he doesn't like the idea of being a rental. I would think NJ would be keeping him since they're not out of it by any means.

I'd be down. His puck posession skills are still elite, and I don't think he was bad in his time here, more snake bitten than anything. A 3rd line of Eriksson-Soderberg-Jagr with Kelly being pushed to the 4th line looks pretty damn good to me.
