I like Kulemin better than Bolland, he seems more stoic and reasonable, Bolland on the other hand has a very high opinion of himself.

How does a guy go from 16 goals to 30 to 7 lol? Just seems odd for a guy in the prime of his career.

A little bit of eveything and a ton of luck. 30 goal season was just straight up luck (17.3% shooting), 7 goal straight up bad luck (6.5%), in the middle is about right.

It is almost certain that Dreger is pumping the tyres. Although I don't doubt that Kulemin does have interest.

I don't doubt there are good offers, he is a good player. I just don't think "good offer" means what people here will inevitably picture when they hear that term. Who was it that claimed Amac got great offers, total bidding war, much interest and then qualified it with "might even get a 2nd and a 5th." Words are just not always he same to TSN and HFboards.

This was a perfect post.

Burke turned down 1sts for Grabo and Macarthur. Maybe Nonis just knows better.

I wouldn't be surprised if Bolland is traded too. If he's looking for Clarkson or even Bozak money after this year, especially long term, he's crazy.

Let's see, his last three season he has played 166 games and he averages 11 goals, 23 assists and 34 points. He is also about to be a UFA and is not a veteran with a winning pedigree to forgive his work-a-day stats.

Dreger is totally trolling everybody to try and boost Kulemin's value for his beloved leafs. I am sure there is interest but I would be surprised if he gets more than a 3rd round pick for the kid.

Then he'll be staying. What the OP didnt mention is that Nonis has stated many times he has no problem keeping an upcoming UFA, an "own rental", unless the offer is just ridiculous.

"Ridiculous" for Kulemin is going to be a young roster player with upside or a high pick.

Like who exactly? He's not going to get someone like Connolly or Maatta by himself, but we may be able to get someone whose ready next year or something? Personally, I'd prefer a 1st-2nd round pick for Kulemin, since we could use our own depth in our system, which is starting to lack depth.

If Sheor is after him, I sure hope he doesn't give them much in return. Better off waiting and offering him something in July and keeping our assets

Based on Shero's comments to the media recently it doesn't seem like he's interested in overpaying for anybody at the deadline this year.

Kinda funny if you are, Dreger says Kulemin is being shopped, and this somehow ups Kulemins value... You realize Nonis has his a mouth, and most likely some sort of cellphone where he can tell GM's himself. I see someone say this EVERY time Dreger comes out with some sort of leaf news...

they are serious

i have no doubt that the pens and leafs have had or are having discussions about kulemin, but it hasn't happened yet so i don't see it happening now. unless they are desperate to make room for bolland and the price is lowered at the last minute.

Can his value be much more than Hemsky? Plays a better defensive game and grittier game, but is anyone realistically expecting much more than a 2nd + suspect prospect?

I'd be interested in the following from pitsburgh

Despres
Poulliot
Harrington
Niskanen (unlikely )

I'm not, and Kulemin is one of my favorite players.

He does everything right, and plays his heart out every shift, but the offense just isn't there, and even he was traded to play beside Malkin I don't see his offensive totals jumping up substantially.

I think the leafs are better off keeping him for the playoff run, resigning him, and letting Dave "7years" Bolland walking at the end of the year. No reason to sell off the team when in all probability we have the playoffs to deal with in a April.

I can't see Kulemin demanding anymore than 3.5million, while Bolland's rumored demands are simply embarrassing for Dave. I'm not ready to give Bolland 1.5 million more for 7 more years, just because he has shown to be a decently good player for 15 games.

Niskanen is impossible with Martin & Letang out and the other three are extremely unlikely. Especially Pouliot. Yikes. No interest in the Pens giving up any of those for Kulemin.

I'm expecting that value but a roster player unde contract worth that rather than the pick and prospect itself
